Ahhh I'm so excited!

I've followed news about it like a hawk since E3 2013 and it's almost here! Followed the leaks of a month ago, watched the three leak streamers last night (or was it two days ago?) and then all day watched TheJwittz's stream on Twitch of the Japanese release.

So sad it doesn't come out until next month and super super super bummed I didn't hit Platinum with Club Nintendo last year so I won't have the demo until September 19.

So anyone else excited and getting the game? Anyone getting the 3DS version? I have friends who are excited bu they're mostly waiting for the Wii U release (I'm getting both, register both in Club Nintendo and you get a free physical soundtrack of the whole game~).

Mainly I'm asking because I would LOVE to play with you guys or anyone getting the game! As the release date gets closer I'll probably post Skype + Friend Code info. Hopefully the online systems improve over what I saw with Jwittz playing with Shofu and Justin.

would love fellow hyped up people

I'm really excited! I'm going to get the 3DS version whenever it comes out. :sing: Sadly, last time I played a smash bros game was years ago so I'll probably suck at it.

Oh be sure to stick around here when the game is close to coming out then, I'd love to exchange codes with you and play with you!

I've always liked to think I'm above average, as I always quash my friends in Brawl (was a bit late for Melee, played it a little but my main experience is hundreds of hours in Brawl), buuut we're a group of friends who rarely used shielding, dodges, and grabs, which I need to learn how to do. I mained Ike, Zelda, and Ice Climbers in Brawl, and while I look forward to playing Zelda and Ike again I'm so sos sososo excited about all the new characters and the improved ones!

and shulk, i'm really feeling it *been playing xenoblade for a few weeks now*

So I probably suck at Smash compared to real players, hah. Relyed a little too much on smash stick for Ike and Din's Fire for Zelda.

And playing matches together with other people will go to our VS count which is needed for two characters! *wink wink if you don't want roster spoilers* And plus Smash is funnest with friends.

One question. When I stop playing the [special] demo (home menu and X), my 2DS needs to restart every time.
Is this normal or did I have a problem while downloading?

Oh so you're saying you have the demo? Lucky!

Anyways, demo-wise I've only ever played the Bravely Default demo but it should functino like a regular game and let you go in and out with the home button and turn the demo off by holding down power. At least that's how my 3DS XL functions. Unless you're run out of your 30 plays.

What I thought is that a 2DS needs to use more RAM than a regular 3DS and that's why it needs to restart (to erase all temporal files) but I'm not sure. owo'

By the way, the special demo allows you to play it unlimited times but with the same restrictions as the original demo (basic stage and you can choose between Mario, Link, Pikachu, Megaman and Villager).

Maybe download another demo to test like the Bravely Default demo I mentioned? See if it functions normally or not compared to your Smash demo.

I'm not super antsy to get the Smash demo because it's so limited unless what you do in the demo carries over or if you get a bonus trophy or something (Like the BD demo game me extra items at the start of the game, as will the upcoming Pokemon ORAS demo).

Here, I'm curious! What are your guys' mains or ones you at least like to play? Like I don't have a main on Smash 64 because I've only played it at a dentist's office and on Virtual Console a few times, but I enjoy a specific character.

64: Pikachu
Melee: Young Link, Zelda+Sheik
Brawl: Ike, Zelda, Ice Climbers
Ones I like but don't main much are Zero Suit Samus, Pikachu of course, and Ivysaur+Charizard.

In this game I'll probably have like 5-6 mains hah there are so many characters and I love to play random-a-thons so I get lots of experience with all of them.
will eternally suck at DDD though

I've downloaded other demos such as Nintendogs and Mario Golf and didn't have this problem. orz Quite weird tho.
Both limited and unlimited allow you to get Gold that can be later exported to the full version of the game (just like the ORAS demo, but as I've heard, this ORAS demo is somewhat different to the final ORAS game, as it will feature "special things" [maybe exclusive items or Pokémon] and change every day. [just for this it already gets my attention])

And well, I'm quite flexible at characters but I usually get Kirby, Pikachu, Yoshi or Link. owo

I don't have a 3DS but I am looking forward to the one that's coming out for the WiiU. The roster this time around is strong with sword-users. I am very okay with this even though I don't know who these Fire Emblem characters are. I'm also excited to play Wii Fit Trainer and Villager.

Gonna...stretch my way to the winner zone.
Ha. Ha. No? Okay. I'm sorry.

Aw, but will maybe play you on Wii U! Excited to play that version with my friends as we'll all be home on winter break.

With Fire Emblem I'm also a bit weirded out (less so than Kid Icarus, at least Fire Emblem is a long and running series that has been with Nintendo forever, and KI getting three reps and a colorswap clone kinda irks me bad), but really glad Robin got in as that was excellent (and my husband Chrom helps me out in final smash and in victory~~~ I played Awakening, it was fantastic). Lucina I'm EXTREMELY meh about, but again less so than Dark Pit, mostlymad because no one is upset about Lucina because waifuness. :/ Dr. Mario I'm fine with as he's different from regular Mario. And Falcondorf is still a shame.

I don't see why everyone is always so butthurt over the swords, only new ones are Shulk, Dark Pit and Lucina (both clones anyways), and partially Robin though his Magic+Sword mechanic is unique. I always wanted Isaac but everyone always yelled about swords when he likely would have played like Robin but better (Ragnarok, Cure, Gaia~~).

Shulk should be welcome as Nintendo is bringing in new IPs, but people just whine about Dixie, Ridley, K Rool, Mewtwo, etc. ugh. Used to GameFAQs boards though, sorry if you guys think I'm exaggerating, they're nuts over there.

Oh, huh. I don't use MiiVerse but I did like to look some stuff up on the browser now and then, mostly Pokemon percentages for a Nuzlocke I was doing. Should be too much of a problem. Did you Google around to see if anyone else had your problem?

…Alright, I gave a look around. In this post this guy mentions closing your 2DS after the demo is done and acts like it's normal.
Smash Bros. demo doesn't load on 2DS; freezes system. - Nintendo 3DS Message Board for 3DS - GameFAQs
This guy also mentions having to turn off and reboot the system after playing like it's normal.

SO I'm guessing it's okay.

Anyways I'm excited! On Saturday after my local Renaissance Festival two of my friends and I are meeting up to play the Smash demo with

Thanks for this references Shinami! x'D This confirms what I was thinking related to the RAM problem.

And dang these controls are reeeeeally hard to get used to. I keep hitting A to jump thinking it's good old GameCube X and try to move using hte D-pad and grabbing with R. and dying.

D:

Can't you buy a new one? Surely the have some at Target/Waltmart/GameStop/Best Buy and if not Amazon.

Demo isn't too amazing anyways - it's best for getting a feel on the controls and trying out the new characters. And lets me feel that Link's been buffed, playing him very comfortably now (dreadful at Mario and Mega Man myself, Villager and Pikachu are okay I guess). And they're best best best for playing with people. Played a few rounds with friends today, and though I didn't see them I Streetpassed with five people playing the demo today at my Renaissance Festival (which was very fun, only two Link cosplayers this year though, last year had five).

I'm real tired of playing it myself though at this point, need to play it with friends until it comes out.

I already ordered a new charger online, and honestly my hype for the demo kind of died when I found out that Fox McCloud wasn't in it (because he's the only character I main as. :O ) but I still can't help but to feel left out without it.

There are SO MANY Smash Bros players at my college, and the majority of them play competitively so I don't stand a chance...
But their hype is rubbing off on me. I don't even have a 3Ds, but I've been mooching off of everyone else's Demos.
Can't wait for the full version to come out on 3DS, but I'll be happier when the WiiU version comes out cuz I won't feel so guilty about the mooching xD

Woo, Smash time!

(Request for friendship and battle friends below stories)

So last night I went to my local GameStop midnight launch, my first ever. Was awesome, there were 30+ people there but I was the only girl. A bit disappointing when most left after getting it, but around a dozen stuck around to loiter until 1 AM. I chatted really excitedly with the others about upcoming games, Smash of course, the new Mega Rayquaza announcement, etc.

For funny stories, one guy who was at the very front of the line (our GameStop does a ticket system rather than making you wait, disappointingly also) got outside with me, excitedly rips open the plastic, pulls out his 3DS XL… and his game currently in the 3DS is jammed in. Me and others try to help and eventually he gets back in the GS and the desk guy helps him out and after fishing the game out tells him to clean his 3DS before playing as it's all sticky. DX I gamed with a group of guys who turned out to be druggies (at least nice, hardcore gamer, D&D playing druggies), beat up two who only had the demo and came with friends as they preordered at Best Buy then got rekt by a guy playing Sheik who was lamenting wave-dashing but who taught me how to tilt so worth it. Was incredibly fun, will repeat on November 20.

So, I've had the full copy for a day now (had work today tho)! Very fun, characters are absolutely wonderful, modes are so freaking numerous, and it drains the power like crazy.

For characters, I'm still experimenting. Link I got comforable with in the demo and am adequate with in game but he's not very versatile. Ike and Zelda, my mains from Brawl, are still pretty good but aren't as good in the small stages of 3DS (I like to snipe with Zelda and hit and run then slay with Ike). Peach is a bamf, Shulk is fun, and I'm still experimenting. XD I've unlocked Ness, Falco, Wario, and Ganondorf so far.and my hank hill mii will bring the propain

HOWEVER SMASH IS BEST WITH COMPANY

I know hardly anyone with Smash, so I'd love to Smash with anyone here! But I want to voice chat while we play.

I'm in EST. Likely tomorrow for like an hour or two (11-12?) then at night (after 10) I'd be up to playing some matches, we can always type chat to see when people are available. I'm not pro but I can shield and grab and tilt now! *wants friends*
