Hello, everyone! My name is Mika.

You might also know me as kamika or ShokoraOto. Those are my main channels on YouTube, where I upload singing and VocaUTAU shenanigans. I am 20 years old, and want to make some kind of difference in people's lives.

I started singing on YouTube as a Youtaite (ShokoraOto) in 2011, and haven't stopped since! I recently started using Vocaloid to make music, and currently own Tone Rion and Kagamine V4x. (I really want to invest in Dex, Yohioloid, Miku V4x, Anon + Kanon, and Fukase!!)

    HOLD FIRE (cover)

    Kokoro (The Perfect Program Mix)

    Strobe Last (Acid Jazz cover)

I've made a few original songs in the past few months, but only two have been uploaded so far. They aren't anything too special, but I think I 'm making progress!

    404HEARTACHE feat. AVANNA

    rewired. feat. Tone Rion

I am always looking to improve, and I love learning new things, so please feel free to give me constructive criticism.

I live in the southeastern United States, and am currently in tech school for animation!

Project Sonata has become a big part of my life, and I'm dedicating a lot of time into her development. The emotions behind the project came up shortly after I listened to the song SHARDS by Eyeris.

I realized, "Artists and musicians use these materials as coping methods". Music and art are ways to create and vent without being self-destructive. You can still make something beautiful in your darkest of hours. I had always figured something like that, but never really thought about it. Vocaloid and UTAU help the creativity of others truly flourish, and that's why I love it so much.

Shortly after that, I heard about the scam with Stella (the fake Vocaloid that was going to be private, for "charity"). I thought it was a huge shame that it wasn't a real project. So I decided to step in and create something called Project Sonata.

The first video on Sonata's channel!!

I wanted Sonata to be very community-driven, with me just providing the voice and her image. I wanted people to create with her, and give others inspiration! Then, I decided to make The Light Current a charity album that would donate every earning to the Depression and Bipolar Alliance.

As someone who suffers, and knows many close friends and artists who suffer, from these conditions and varying levels of depression, I wanted to help. I wanted to show them some kind of light, and support venting in creative outlets instead of resorting to self-harm.

    Nightcall (Sonata × Daisy)

I was able to gather different producers in the overseas community of different skill levels and let them create songs based on the word "hope", whether it was the loss or the gain of it.

The album is up now for sale on bandcamp, but it won't be after August, so please check it out and consider donating!

The Light Current album crossfade! Bandcamp link in the info!

And now I am moving Project Sonata forward as much as I can. Its difficult, even with my team with me, but we're working hard! I am doing my absolute best to learn more about UTAU and make more quality voice banks for Sonata so everyone can have an easy time using her, no matter the skill level.

Like I said, she is very community-dependent, and will need more people spreading the word of her if we're going to continue to succeed!

We have a lot of things in store for her, even though she is just an UTAU. But I want her to inspire others. That's my sole purpose for making her in the first place.

aaaaa, that got a little long! But thank you for reading, if you got this far! ♡ Feel free to ask me any questions about myself or Sonata, or follow me on twitter! I love talking to you guys!

Have a great evening, day, and afternoon! ☆
