For my VCVs, I usually take around 1-2 days to oto if I'm not lazy- which is never, really. So, it normally takes me around a week and a half to oto.

My first VCV took about an hour to record and about a day to oto

Now VCVs only take about 30 to 45 minutes (depending on teh reclist I use) to record per pitch
And If I'm lazy it takes about 5 days to oto, and if i'm not, only a day if I do it by hand

If I cheat and use setparam it only takes half an hour to go back and fix the otos.

Recording took an hour 0,0 and then some because oremo wanted to be stupid and hide the wav files.... Thank god my friend oto'd it don't even wanna know how much that could have taken (like five days or so)

Gosh it felt like hours to record because I struggled to say some of the strings, but it was probs 1-2 hours. I otoed by dropping the folder into moresampler which generates an oto. It takes a few minutes to generate but it sounds quite good! (Although you need to tweak some of it)

My first VCV voicebank was monopitch and used Ritsu's reclist, which has a lot of extra strings, so it took me around 2 hours to record.
As for OTOing, I actually sat down and finished the OTO in one afternoon with SetParam, so maybe about 3 hours? I'm not sure.
But anyway, considering I'm usually lazy scum when it comes to the OTO, it *usually* takes me around a week completely finish a voicebank if I sit down and actually work on it.

When I finally swallowed my pride and made a VCV bank, I used a reclist that I made and recording only took like 30 minutes. The first oto was done by a friend. They showed me how to oto and it took me a couple of weeks to oto one pitch by hand. I was a noob, so I could probably do it faster now that I'm more experienced.

I'm the worst when it comes to actually doing stuff. Recording and otoing one pitch of VCV took 4 months, and I'm not even joking. Recording always takes a few weeks, but I can configure the oto in a few days if I really want to. I don't use OREMO, SetParam, or Moresampler's features to help, which makes things a bit harder. If you can use those, take advantage of them!

My first VCV voicebank (it was monopitch) took me 5 months to make since I made the oto from scratch. My second (it was tripitch) took me about a week or two. Now it takes me an hour and a half to record a pitch of VCV and 1 hour and 45 minutes to make the oto

The core VCV I released for Armor took 1-2 month to make. The recording took 1 hour since I used namine's list (I will never do it again). The oto took the rest of the two month because I did everything from scratch including aliasing.
Now my TEMPEST append took 15 days so I guess I'm getting better lolol

I can hardly remember my early days now, but I think my first VCV must've been a lite bank. I never really got around to otoing it. The second one, however, was a proper 5 mora full VCV, which probably took me a few days to record and the slow work of otoing over the course of a few weeks.

However, you shouldn't be relying on stories of first attempts to get an estimation of how long it will take you. Theoretically, you can record a standard Japanese VCV bank in 30 minutes, and generate a rough base OTO in just a couple minutes.

I was extremely lazy so it took well over two weeks for me to record and "oto" (I wasn't otoing just messing with numbers)
I also saved all of the samples as mp3 files instead of wav so I had to hand convert them which probably slowed the process too.

My very first VCV vb was a lite VB which took I think a couple hours. I combined it with my old CV vb since I didn't want to put it to waste (then. I scrapped both of them presently). I oto'ed it with moresampler so I'm guessing it took somewhere around 2-4 hours in total.
