How do YOU like to name your appends?

Do you use straight to it names like strong, soft, etc,
or do you prefer something completely unrelated like flower names, items, careers, anything?!

It depends on the language. My whole append pack is called 'Hirogaru' which means expand, the appends are just called what they are in japanese; strong is Tsuyoi (meaning strong), soft is Yasashī (Meaning gentle), dark is Kurai (meaning gloomy) and whisper - yet to be recorded - Sasayaki (meaning...well whisper).

English has no appends yet, but they'll just be named the same, Strong, Gentle, Gloomy, Whisper (If I ever record English Appends)

German Appends - if there will be - will be called the same in german, however there wont be a Power Append since the german will be a Powerscale, so the Appends will be Sanft (meaning Gentle), Düster (Gloomy) and Flüster (Whisper)

Sors, I like your idea. Each language gets voicebank names in their own language, which I imagine makes things a lot more straightforward and understandable to the native users of each language. Have you looked up common kanji suffixes from existing Japanese banks?

Hmm... for sunetoha I've got it all planned out, so it's just called neutral, soft, and power. I don't have any particular theme in mind because it's a character-less UTAU. As for Dominic, there's less planning involved, so I might end up choosing names that are more reflective of his character and story. For example, I've got an experimental bank with edited samples, and I want to think of a name that suggests that he magically trapped himself inside of a cell phone, or something.
And then with the seibetsus, almost all of them have a duality theme, so they won't be getting banks outside of their two mains. It's some weird names I came up with years ago that don't make much sense.

Yes I have, 強い, 優しい, 暗い, 囁き, each just Tsuyoi, Yasashī, Kurai and Sasayaki. I doubt I will need more Appends eh?

Hmm, I think typically you'll see a bank with just 強 or 囁, but I haven't been using a lot of Japanese-made banks so I don't know for sure.

I name appends based off the character and what the append is for >=<

For my Utau Tsugumi, instead of sticking with boring standard append names I chose Princess-themed titles to match her bio and whatnot. For other languages I'd do what Sors does tbh, but only a bit since I'm probably not capable of making a bunch of appends on the first place so I'd have to limit some things ;^^

Probably I'll use it like that, tho so far, my utau has been set to from C4 onwarss use the Tsuyoi append, from C3 to B3 The yasashī append ans below that kurai. So so far its rather a "Multi-Expression Multi-Pitch" Voicebank, with change of Pitch also comes change of expression, thus so far the suffixes are just the pitch, tho I have a higher yasashī and lower Tsuyoi pitch recorded, so I'll probably add those Kanjis as suffixes instead of Pitches, with manual activation, as Sora is supposed to shift automatically from pitch AND expression

I see... this is interesting, I like to use flowers or jewels, but these are cool ideas too! I especially love how you do it @Sors

I haven't gotten around to recording any appends yet, but I chose a space theme. If I ever run out of names, I'd probably switch to a sky theme since it's kind of related. In the readme or character.txt, I'd probably add the voice type (e.g. 強) just in case.

It depends on My Utau.
Kurayami, Akira, Ren and Ran All play off of each other in a sense like Their Power Voicebank is called DOMINATE and it goes Mistress, Master, Lord and Lady, FAMILY is Mother Father Son and Daughter, MATURE is Kaicho Fuku-Kaicho Shacho and Fuku-Shacho. and I believe RAGE is Fury, Frenzy, Temper and Tantrum

But for Kurushimi and his family its more...."perverted" I guess names?(well the placeholder names were anyway). Such as Uke(whisper) Seme(power) Somber(dark) Sadist(raw power) Seduction (raw whisper) and his Incubus (which is a multipitch)

Other Utau have ones that play on their profession or species, Akihiko is a prince so his soft and power are Regal and Tyrant. Kasa and Iroai are paint brushes and a calligraphy brush so their append names are Hue and contrast.

and of course when I have language Voicebanks I try and choose an adjective in that language that describes them. Kurushimi's Spanish at teh moment has been deemed "Papi" Since I was told he sounds kinda like a dad in Spanish XD
