I don't know if I'm in the good section..
Before you click on the link please read this short text!

I have no idea how to make a power append, I know you need to record loudly but also have to be careful because of distortion in the samples. I tried to listen to other powerful utau but I just don't get it...
I made a try, I recorded loudly like people suggested but it seems not powerful enough to me. It sounds Strong, a least but not Powerful.

Anyway here you can listen to my attempt (please listen the full sample it's only 56 sec).. (sorry for the bad mixing)

If you have any suggestions, or if you think it sounds okay to be a power append please tell me. :bigtears:

Hmm I would say it's a solid. With power banks I tend to think screaming or shouting into a mic works best

Overall I like the tone of the VB! :creepy: I think it's solid and kinda powerful, but I suppose since you are not convinced of it, not as powerful as you may want it.

I think you're definetely on the right way. Try to be louder but get just a little far away from the microphone and record a few strings. That way you'll see if your recordings are powerful enough and the distortion went away. If it did and the results convinced you, keep that distance for the rest of the recordings.
That's what I can tell you from my personal experience, tho.

Also try to experiment with mixing! I think it can help a lot when it comes to add power to a voicebank :creepy:

imo, call it whatever you want. Its not like there's some legislation or regulation dictating what characteristics a VB has to meet to be called "power" or "solid" or any other moniker. Its a strong voice, so if its called power, that seems appropriate to me.

(What even is the difference between solid and power? Solid is Miku's power append; she doesn't have a separate power one. Its all pedantry if you ask me. And I bring up Miku because use of the word "Solid" is only a thing because of her, as is use of the word "append". )

I think it can definitely be considered a power voicebank. But at some points it sounds kind of fuzzy as if it was amplified, so maybe you are recording too close to the microphone? The voicebank is powerful enough but maybe if you want even more power, belt out the notes harder perhaps? But it sounds fine to me, and the UTAU has a very pleasant voice. You don't want it to sound too powerful though because sometimes it might sound weird and un-natural.

I'll go with Solid... It's somewhere between Strong and Powerful.
