Gakupo-esque UTAUs?

Now, I'm not starting this to be like "lololol what utaus do you think sound like gakupo?".

I'm having a hard time finding any UTAUs that have Gakupo's voice type. Most male banks are boyish in tone, and when they're deep often they're very sharp or metallic in nature instead of like Gakupo's...heavier voice? It's hard to describe, hence I bring up Gakupo as a comparisson. And Gakupo/Gackt aren't the only singers with this voice type, it's a very real voice type that singers have.

Like in this song, which is part of the reason I really want a Gakupo-esque voice (if I had Gakupo I'd use him in a heartbeat for this) because I want to make a UST of this song sometime.

and yes i know the song is english but the engrish is so thick and lulzy that i have to use a japanese bank
Anyways though, this isn't the only song where I've wanted a thicker, deep male voice. And probably won't be the last.

Can anyone please suggest voices they think go in this voice type? DX

I think Rook comes close, but in the end his voice is boyish, though it does have the thickness. But otherwise I know none.

hmmm, Ryunne Seichi maybe? his voice hasn't been updated since 2011 i think. But he's one of the few i can think of with a voice type similar to Gakupo and he's still pretty HQ..(he was supposed to have a Power bank coming out too but idk if it's still happeniiing... ; A; )

Hmm....
Hibiki Shinji is usually my go-to on songs that I would use Gakupo for, but I've always got a particular type of song in mind so I imagine he's really not everyone's cup of tea (Gakupo is a lot... mellower).

I second Killy 2.0, he's wonderful.

I've found Caeles does a pretty good job, too... Sometimes. He's a little finicky.

Nagareboshi Yue's CV VC is good for the job, as well, but... Unreleased. If you can find someone to catch Mario for you and ask for it then he's pretty fantastic. He also completely bypasses that metallicness that I know some of my other suggestions have.

Hamakawa Atsuki has a nice, mature voice. I feel like he's a bit better than most of the videos uploaded show... Needs a little oto work, though, and he's a little lighter than what you're looking for, I think...

There's also Mabui and Lacan. Lacan's... Well, Lacan, so he might be a little overboard on the manliness, but Mabui has a pretty good tone for Gakupo kind of stuff, I reckon.

Rokune Zon might work.

There's also Mikami and Mikami Gesshoku, but he's metallic. Useful for certain occasions because he doesn't sound quite as uncomfortably forced as some UTAUloids that go this deep do, but definitely metallic.

That's all I can think of right now, I hope one or two take your fancy. I'm actually a tad disappointed in myself that I couldn't think of more.

EDIT: I KEEP SKIM READING POSTS I MISSED THAT YOU WERE THINKING OF COVERING A VERSAILLES SONG
In this case I'd suggest Hibiki Shinji Creamy, really, I can't think of any other mellow VK banks. Killy or Yue would still kind of work.

I just wanted to say... VERSAILLES UST!?! -dies of happiness-

So little USTs for visual kei D'x I'm also pretty impressed you found an off vocal(?)

Anyway, I'm super excited if you make the UST... -goes to the corner of shame of not knowing any voicebank suggestions- QuQ;

Yeah, I think it's the only off vocal they've released - apparently there was a The Revenant Choir CD that had the original then versions with a part missing (bass, guitar, drum, and vocals which is the off vocal). And found it on the internet at high-ish quality luckily. A bit sad they haven't released any more, I also really like Red Carpet Day, but The Revenant Choir is my favorite so happy about that~

WAIT KILLY WAS UPDATED?! Didn't know, he sounds great!

I think I'll try Killy and Shinji Creamy, and pop in Zon to see if he sounds good.
Though Halo, any tips for using Creamy? I tried it once and for some reason was really thrown off by it... Shinji is kinda difficult to use in the first place, but Creamy seems extra hard?

Though just because I've got UTAU ideas for this song doesn't mean I'm satisfied. XD I'd still like suggestions, because while these are all very close and have their own great points I still don't think we have an UTAU that perfectly fits that voice type (maybe one doesn't exist orz).

Well, the voice type is a little hard to capture.

And eh, I've never found Shinji that difficult to work with? But I'd just make sure to check his otos (though granted, THOSE are difficult to work with) and use TIPS/tn_fnds/EFB-GT.

Also, regarding Shinji Creamy, remember to use overlap and breath sounds and use Mod 0! He also sounds good with both simple and complex tuning-- I was trying to find a V-kei vocalist as well for a Buck-Tick UST ;;Good luck!!

Perhaps Yoshi Kazune? He's a pretty low ranged male utau...
