for some reason my pop filter isnt filtering out my window unit air conditioner that's on the other side of the house like it usually does, it's barely noticable in the samples but do you think it will seriously affect the voice bank?

im 100% completely new to VCV so i have not a clue on what i am doing beyond tutorials and reclists

Hm... It depends on how loud it is. It may make it a bit fuzzier. Try playing the whole sample through resamplers and see if it is noticeable :smile: Also if it is, Audacity has a background noise removal tool, so that should work if it is noticeable :smile:

I went back and listened to it and it's just barely there so I think I'll be fine.
there are a few that I'm gonna go back and record though :annoyed:

I've come to the conclusion that even the slightest noise can make VCV freak out, since the really soft humming of my laptop fan made mine really weird when EQing later :/

So I'd try to maybe do some noise removal in Audacity? That helps a bit!

Aaaahhhh :sad:

I figured VCV would be more sensitive than CV
I'll try using the noise removal and if that doesnt help then I'll just rerecord the ones with the interference

I'm afraid it might come to that, although I hope it doesn't since it can get so tedious. ;A;

Yeah now I'm no VCV expert but Momo Momone's "cute" append had background noise in the recordings so it didn't sound to good on some of the notes. I put cute in quotation marks because that's the name of the append

Ah! I see your point.
I've just made so many CV utaus that I know just how much background noise you can get away with but I'm so inexperienced with VCV. I'm having a friend oto it for me just because of how horrible I was at it in the past :cry:

You don't want background noise, it often takes presence over the voice once rendered.

A pop filter will prevent loud plosives (like ps and bs)

The only way to get rid of noise is to not record it in the first place, so turn your a/c off while recording if you can.
