AMG I am so excited for this reclist ^^ I alway's loved your worked and I wished I could make an english voice bank but once I opened up the reclist I was like "uhhhh, nope" but this time since I made a pronunciation text file to help me out (such as for the 9 and 6) I am willing to do it, though could I have someone explain to me on how to pronounce the & sign in the list QuQ I still don't know how to pronounce that TTuTT

*Sighs* The date of release for VCCV was moved to a tentative March release.

MY face while I wait for the new reclist -> щ(ಥДಥщ)

It's so smooth and the result is so understandable. I can't wait for when it's finally public. untill then, I'll just keep playing with my CVVC and VCV sand castles~
//is struck and gets sand kicked in face

I wish you could say some things about it in the future, I am really intrigued by it and am still at the edge of my chair.

Update time!!! Sorry I've been a bit dead.

I had some computer trouble, but I'm finally back with a laptop (that hopefully wont die on me) and I'm slowly gathering all my files back onto it.
I also had a horrible flu, and I'm just waiting for my voice to come back all the way before I can record.

I've made several changes to the list, and I'm testing them now. :3 I believe I am getting rid of the concept of LITE and FULL lists and I'm just going to released a CORE list to use, and release "Extra" recordings that I recommend having, but that aren't 100% needed.

The problem I'm having is mostly that the CCVs and VCCs in English adds another 1000 recordings. So I have been trying to find a way to properly and easily make CC combinations that make up for this. And I'm having a lot of success now!! I'm fairly certain that with this new method you guys aren't even going to be able to tell that I'm just shoving consonants together.

This also makes it a lot easier to work with Multipitch in English, and this is something that I would like to hear much more than I want anyone recording an extra 1000 recordings!! But this is just how I feel. It'll be up to you guys!

The USTs work differently now too, but it's much easier than whatever we were doing with CVVC. It's a bit of a process, but there's no guessing anymore. And if everyone follows the recording process I've designed to work with this list, the USTs should also work much smother from bank to bank. So... plug and play slightly more possible???
Same with the oto. More of it, but MUCH EASIER to handle. I promise.

I am hella excited for this, and really I'm only being held back by the fact that I can't record right now because of this stupid cold. XP
This is my to do list:
1. Finish testing.
2. RECORD AGAIN.
3. Make the base oto.
4. Finish Cz's oto.
5. Make tutorials for: OREMO, SetParam, Recording, OTOing, and USTing.
6. Make Cz sing something amazing.
7. Release the bank and the lists and the tutorials. :orly:

I don't know how long this will take me. And it's all dependent on me not finding ANYthing else to tweak while testing. >_> Which uh..... well... I've been tweaking this thing for 5 years and I keep thinking I've made the last change... really...
But I feel really good about how everything is working now. n___n
End of MArch??? hahhaha ^__^;;;

I totally thought CC was already in the VCCV mix! Glad you're adding those; I've always thought they were applicable if a bit finicky.

Good luck on everything Cz, you've got a whole forum supporting you!

It was! There's just 3 different sets now used for 3 different things. And they're recorded differently, and the oto is a bit different. ^_^; Yeah.

Thanks guys, ahh! ; A ;

I'll be perfectly honest... i would release a lite list. It's your choice, but i think it would grab the interest of those wanting an English bank but not wanting a pain in the butt to make one... But again, your choice!

Excited to make Victor and Victoria English!!

You returned from the war and delivered the best news I've heard this week.
As soon as I get my hands on this list I will record Uchuu English. And it will be so British tea will flow from your speakers.

It's more that the LITE list became the new core list. I've been trying to cut down the FULL the entire time. (I don't want to record it. I don't want to oto it. LOL)
English is basically going to be pain no matter what. XD But I'm trying to combine the best quality with the least amount of work. I will admit, I put a lot more weight on the quality. LOL. But once this is released I think it'll be pretty easy to see what I'm doing, and why I'm doing it. And then you all can take it from there and decide what you'll do with it. ^__^

Around how many samples is the list now? ovo
The core of the list is like 1200 samples now. Which is only about 200 more than what the LITE list was last when Onen helped me test it a few months ago.

Except it should sound just like the FULL list now. I don't think any quality will be lost. But I'll know within the next few days as Zurui records for me.... since I can't T_T.

I just uploaded this. Here's a sample of how the CCVs are working now. That cuts down about 400 samples. And I already know that the VCCs work, and that cuts down about 600 samples. :3

Exciting developments in the VCCV English world! I begin to wonder if I'll make an English bank in the upcoming future ^-^

Putting something together like this must be a mess. What kinds of issues did you encounter on the way to getting to now?

aaaah I see!
Still though, 1200 samples is probably like maybe an hour of recording...

accordig to how the banks are made, what would be a reasonable amount of time to hold the sample out?? The longer the better in most cases, but some reclists make it hard to hold out the samples....

I'll be honest though Onen's demo aside from the metalic sound was better than even cyber diva!!

Also as a tip for recording CZloid, try doing the samples in a soft tone.. I noticed that UTAU's with a soft tone tend to sound more clear. Of course this is your choice but its just a helpful tip!

My b-day is at the end of March so I'm now even more excited XD

Yes. All the problems.
Honestly, most of my problems were from trying to figure out how to best configure the sounds to work in UTAU. So... the oto. Pretty much. And how to work with it in a way that didn't take forever.
But... I don't know other than that. I've been working on this list so long now.... it all just has kind of blurred together.
Lots of list writing, and recording, and otoing, and ust testing. P:

It usually ends up being like 3 to 4 hours, depending on how fast you go.

This VCCV method in particular runs off the bank being recorded on 4th notes at 120BPM. Which ends up being about half a second for vowels. It's actually extremely important that the vowels are not held out any longer than that, and that everything stays on beat. I have included stationary vowels that can be used to hold vowels for note longer than 4th notes if needed.
I am planing to test for more styles of recording after I release this method to the public. :3

From what I can tell, echo getting in recordings is what seems to cause most of the metallic sounds and resampler problems. And recording softer would be one way to reduce your echo. I'm going to try and get a very clear tone, so I probably will be a little bit softer than what her current bank sounds like. O:

well that and a soft tone has a higher chance of sounding realistic. i record in a sound proof room where echo is non-existant (or at least its not audible at all).. Im sure that has a part in it, but softer banks sound better in my opinion.. Your UTAU tho, do whatcha want!

REALLY excited for this!!

Are these samples stringed (like bab-beb-bEb in one sample) or are they un-stringed.(like bab, then beb, then bEb in three separate samples) And if they are stringed how many are there?

Excited for VCCV! \^.^/ Wooh!

Also if it's unstrung I'll do the extras; also will it still be editable, like can I add on things?

The list is split up into different sections, so it depends on what kind of samples I need to get out of the recording. There are 1 to 4 fourth notes worth of sounds per recording! I guess the definitions of "strung" and "unstrung" don't apply to this method now. But the vowel combination section is what I think we'd define as "unstrung" since it's only getting one oto per recording.

And yes! You can edit and add and reduce the list all you want. Though I recommend keeping the core the same, if only for the sake of trying to create some kind of consensus in the English UTAU community. xD But I can only do so much about that.
I've also added a lot of optional recordings for different accents and whatnot. The Extra section contains things like other CC combinations which are super fun to use, but not needed for understandable English, CCV, VCC, VCV, glottal stops, and extra vowels. And if anyone finds other useful things to add down the line, I'll add it!
