Is it weird that I don't care for anime or Japanese music but like utau?

Not much for japanese stuff, but still like utau (the software). Is there anybody else here like that?

I'm a casual anime fan, but other than that I'm not super into it like I was in high school. I don't think it's weird at all to like UTAU but not anime or Japanese pop culture. The software isn't really connected to that sort of stuff at all, other than the creator being Japanese. True, most banks and songs are Japanese, but personally I think a big reason voice synthesizers are more popular in Japan is because it's so much easier to synthesize Japanese given the consonant-vowel pattern. Most other languages don't have it so easy.

In truth I really prefer songs from my country. I love it. But synthesized songs are amazing. I really enjoy them. Usually any japnese songs don't move me. But when they are synthesized they are good to me. When they are adaptated to english I think they're amazing! I think synthesizes came not to be "better" than humans but to help them to meet new songs from different authours instead of just looking for a specific singer =^w^=

That's why I really enjoy vocaloid and utau.

I actually dont like japanese music all that much either. The culture is interesting, but I'm really just more of a casual enthusiast for anime (which is how I found out about the software to begin with)

Truth be told, I'm not much of a music listener at all! (Too me it just sounds like noise)
When I do listen, I much prefer things in english and don't care for Japanese music all too much.
So I wouldn't say it's weird, just different.

I would say I'm somewhat similar? While, I do like and follow doujin music, I haven't been into anime since...2007 or so? Part of the draw of UTAU for me has always been the technical aspects of the program.

You definately share my opinion. The techinical aspect is why i like it, not so much the who VBing, covering, charactering aspect.

GPOY. Most of music that I listen happens to be Rock in Spanish, actually. And Vaporwave/Future Funk.
And I'm really bad at watching series in general -including anime- since I get distracted easily and I don't have too much free time for watching shows anyway. Hell, I don't even draw anime, so yeah, you aren't alone  I actually know other UTAU users that are like this too.

I don't watch anime much anymore (let alone finish a series - hard enough to watch and finish j, k, or t-drama), and as far as Japanese music is concerned, I'm far more likely to listen to J-rock or alternative than I am to pop music. If I need my pop music fix, I look to Korean pop. I'm American, but I rarely listen to my own country's music but for a select few. And yes, the technological aspect of it all is very fascinating to me.

Yeah, I have trouble watching series too. There are things I want to watch, but I always end up putting it off/don't have enough time/find something else to do.

/Hopefully not getting too off-topic
