First, make sure you've installed it correctly. I recomend looking at yuunari's tutorial [link]. If you've done everything according to that tutorial then make your own thread on the forums describing the issue you're having and include screeen shots.

If it was installed properly and everything is outside of programfiles, then it is usually something with the format setting. When I use pitchtrace I always have to temporarly change the format setting in time & region to japanese nowadays.

From my experiences, when utau crashes it usually tends to be because of the decimal settings on the computer. Since you didnt mention having to change it in the original post it might be worth to take a look. go to controlpanel -> time and region -> region, then hit the more options/ Advanced...

The fact that the aliases in the voice report look like questionmarks makes me think its either a system locale problem (make sure the UTF-8 beta thing is unchecked) or that the oto.ini isnt ANSI.
