Hi, I just recorded a VCV bank to test out my new microphone. I'm a little upset about the results though. The mic I bought was a Samson Meteorite condenser mic, and I was not sure how loud I should turn up the volume. I had it at 25/100 (in Windows recording device settings) and each sample peaked at about 0.07 dB. I turned it down because I figured that maybe it would help the recordings sound a little better, but it didn't. :c
I even used a mini recording booth I made to help the quality. (here's what it kind of looks like: http://harlanhogan.com/images/portaboothFullFront.jpg )
When I tested the samples in UTAU I could hear unwanted background noise. Here's the test. everything in the test is oto'd btw:
Any advice on how to improve my recording quality? I'm at a bit of a loss here. ^^;;
