Recently I've created a new YouTube channel called UtaCity dedicated to original songs created with Utau. They way it works is simple: you send your song (along with art, if you have any) to me, and I upload it to the channel. The goal is to get a decent subscriber base going on this channel, so that budding Utau songwriters can have an opportunity to get recognition as well as to amass a collection of Utau works from any artist who submits their work. I really need the community's help to make this project a success, and you can help by submitting some of your work, or if you don't have any original songs, by just subscribing to the channel.

If you want to submit a track, here are some guidelines:
    • If I haven't made this clear already, this channel is only for original music, not covers. If, however, you have remixed a song (and not just changed the voices/singers), I'm happy to accept these.
    • I want to have as much music on this channel as possible, but I may reject music of poor quality, or anything overly explicit/obscene/offensive. I will message you if your song was rejected.
    • I'm looking for all sorts of music in all languages, but I want to put an emphasis on English songs on this channel. Japanese music is more than welcome although I'd really like to see some English music here. Music in other languages is also very welcome.
    • I'd really like to have art along with each song, however this is not a requirement. Also, if you haven't made art or had some made, any art that you think fits and is acceptable for re-use will work (but please, leave the link to the original author so I can credit them!)
    • If you want links to your download in the description of the video, I can do that. Just say so on your submission.
    • Please make sure that links to music are of high quality (192kbps and up), and that art is at least of 720p resolution.
To submit a song, just reply to this post (or PM me if you want to keep it private) with:
    • Your artist name (that you want to be used in the title/video) and song name
    • Download link to the song
    • Art, if you have any
    • Social media links (any that you want in the video description)
Your submissions should be uploaded in a week or two. Thank you in advance for your support of this project!

Here's a link to the channel.

    Artist: bearhack145
    Song Title: Patronize 「Jayden」
    Song Download: http://www.mediafire.com/listen/6jjp62bq9jplafj/Patronize_-_UTAU_Jayden.mp3

Sorry Kinetic, like I said I have no art for Jayden yet or I would have already posted it on my own YT channel. I would use my avatar, but the image comes from Angel's Feather and would be a copyright infringement. Since the instrumental is scored for piano, maybe just an image of a piano would do?

    Social Media:
    Soundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/bearhack145-953728889
    Youtube (Channel Bearhack): https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCuFubOIkeCbEmQWMO33hsUw

You can include the download link for the .mp3 in the description, the song is Copyrighted to myself (and the copyright is listed in the metadata), but for now I've released it under the creative commons non-commercial share-alike license.

    Thanks!

Is this still going on? Or did it die? ^^; Because I would be very interested in supporting this.

It's been stale for a long time now, but I'll be glad to use it again if you're interested!

192kbps isn't that extraordinary, but it's pretty much indistinguishable from wav/CD to the average (or even good) ears. when it's going to be format-converted a couple times in the process of becoming a video and uploading to Youtube, less compression helps a bit, even if the sources (inst, vox...) are only 128kbps.

less compression like, maybe using a .wav in your video render? or failing that, a 320 kbps .mp3, iirc youtube standard? not sure what you mean by "sources (inst, vox)," unless you're doing your mixing in a video editor...?

i can't personally tell the difference between a .wav and a high quality .mp3, but there are certainly audible differences between high quality .mp3 and middling quality ones. you've gotta be using some trial-version software if you can't export in anything higher than 320kbps, and the file size difference between .mp3s isn't so great that anybody should notice.

i'm not totally sure whether you agree with me or disagree with me. you start by saying "it's nearly indistinguishable," but then say "less compression helps," so... yeah. preferably, don't compress it loads by having unnecessarily super-compact mp3s? just as a rule of thumb in everything you do?
