recently i recorded my VCV voicebank UTAU using oremo and its reclist-renzoku-NHP list, etc. i had to configure his otos myself, but he sounded great singing end of rain, and i was rly happy with the outcome.
i made my own UST of a song at 192BPM and added pitchbends, but my UTAU sounded all jumbled and slurred. i figured the issue was the overlaps, but no matter how much i move stuff around in the oto configuring window, sometimes the previous vowel is cut and isn't sung at all, or the full syllable cuts short. basically he sounds so much choppier singing this!
for reference, this is what it looks like right now. the overlaps are huge but i can't figure out the best way to configure the otos in the first place.

i've been going through USTs and configuring my UTAU that way, but maybe i should just test it note by note in a blank file?
also, i've been able to use his voicebank in various songs and render .wav files, but fsr the UTAU program hasn't generated .frq files yet. should i just generate them myself?
this is my first time working on an oto.ini myself so i guess if anyone has some tips that would be awesome. thanks!

Try to record at a consistent tempo otherwise your renderings will be slurred.
Also, the oto should match the tempo. If you want a legit oto, then use setParam or use the setParam calculations to make the base oto.

if you did record at a constant temp, did you go into teh Usts properties and clear out the Overlaps/preutterence/STP/BRE boxes? Its really easy to forget to to that sometimes. I've done it and redid like 4 3 pitch vcvs and then go "Oh yah...thats a thing."

all those are cleared out so those are probably not the issue. thanks though
i didn't use a tempo marker in oremo but i referenced some other UTAU VCV recordings and went off that so they should be more or less the same tempo (which i'm realizing to be an error now ahaha.) i'm gonna look into set param and see if that will make my life easier. thanks!
