Hi I'm Rin, I used to make small Utau covers back in 2010 but took a really long hiatus when 2011 hit and 5 years down the line I've decided I want to get to the hobby again.
Hope we all get along :3

Yeah I know how that feels
Personally when I was finishing middle school, I just wanted to stop making pitchloids and try something else original for a change, the entire process felt really complicated but I got better over time but at my current state I'm pretty rusty at the moment.
What's your Utau's name and how long have you been using the program?

Don't have an utau. Been using for a year or so, but I don't utau too much anymore - I'm more into song production than covers.

I joined the community around... 2014, I think? At that time I didn't start making my own covers yet in UTAU, but I started around 2015. I got an account here because I needed (and still do) a lot of help with UTAU, and I wanted to make some friends.

Oh that's interesting, how's that like? Does the process usually feel draining?

Hmmmm, I'm pretty sure I first used utau back in summer 2014, so I've been an utau user for 2 years
Also, my UTAU are Maria & Mario Fuwa, hanzo Yamiga, and Belzenef (a wip utau)

I feel the same, my previous friends used to be part of the fandom but lost interest later, I plan on doing something with my Utau like revising and such. I would love to learn new things I've missed out during my hiatus. ^w^

Love the dedication, during my hiatus I mostly focused more on improving my art/drawing skills and I didn't really had the tools to make new voicebanks at the time too. *sigh*
But things are getting better, haha.
What was the process like making their voicebanks?

The process isn't really draining, but the lack of ideas and/or crappy mixes, sounds, etc. is pretty frustrating. As a terrible lyric writer, I specialize in instrumental work mostly, having only completely written one song. most of my music remains unfinished, sadly. Thankfully I'm working with a couple people on my newest song, so it should have decent lyrics.

Ooh, what's the theme of the song or is it a secret for now?

It's about hatsune miku, she can't store any memories due to her design basically.
