Ritsu Namine and Teto won't sing.

I'm very new to using Utau and I really wanted to use Ritsu. I downloaded the Kire and normal voice bank of his. I downloaded about three different ust, and none of them would work. When i pressed play no noise came out. They're in VCV or I used lyric diphonizer when they weren't. I'm unsure why this is happening. I even downloaded Teto and she doesn't work either any time i've tried.

I changed my locale and it didn't affect it. I tried using applocale as well and it still failed to do anything.

You need to uninstall UTAU and delete the installer you used. Download a new 4.18e installer (after assuring that your machine has Japanese locale as well as decimal set to period instead of a comma [if you're running a European windows, changing decimal is necessary]) and install as you normally would. You may also want to download Ritsu and Teto again to assure nothing is in mojibake.

(Oh, and don't use applocale to install. It's outdated and doesn't even work if you have a modern machine such as Windows 8 - 10)

You usually don't have to redownload, so if you have slow internet you can try without redownloading first.

@user 7823472d48, while you have as much right to help others as anyone else on this forum, I have to ask - hopefully for the final time - that you not suggest that it's okay to run the original installer used prior to locale. In most situations, the installer will be corrupted and even if mojibake isn't an issue, other issues can occur at random due to the corrupted code. UTAU is only 3.2 mbs, which even a slower connection should be able to download within a matter of seconds/a minute tops.

Think about this:
A Zip file's contents will mojibake on the wrong locale and need to be redownloaded.
An Installer uses Zip for compression.
Thus, the installer can and will mojibake.
Considering UTAU's rather small download size, not redownloading it should be out of the question.

I did all of that and its still not making any sound. Again I tried multiple ust with both Teto and Ritsu.

Are the usts fitted for them and are they converted to VCV?

If not, then you need to use a plugin to convert the ust you want to use.

You know, I'm starting to think I might give CVVC a shot before diving right in and trying to record a new VCV bank first.
