Although everybody said that UTAU is a false positive, i'm still a bit unpleasant. Is UTAU is actually safe and free from virus?

UTAU is 100% safe, the only reason it comes up as a potential virus is because the publisher (Ameya) isn't "signed." There's nothing malicious in the software.

Yes, is is definitely safe from viruses. Why would their be entire websites based upon it? In fact, I don't even know why your getting a false positive, But you should be fine as long as you download it from the official site: http://utau2008.web.fc2.com/ You should also download the English patch unless you can read Japanese: http://www.vocaloidotaku.net/index.php?/topic/2413-utau-english-translation/ (third post down has the right one) And also, before you do either of those, make sure you change your system locale: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-ca/windows/change-system-locale#1TC=windows-7 (doesn't change your computer to Japanese, just enables your computer to display Japanese text properly! Hope you enjoy using UTAU!

download directly form the UTAU website.
Downloads you find on YouTube for programs like MediaFire and such, don't touch them because they can be infected.

UTAU Website
UTAU-Synth (Mac Users) Website

The download version you want is v0.4.18e installer for windows or Version 1.0.0 b18 (2013.1.20) for Macs

If you have a mac here is a 30Day code - SQPRK-4V1ET-M4P8U-NQJQE-ST450
UTAU Synth requires a new code every month to use (Unless you buy UTAU-Synth) while UTAU for windows is free without having to enter a code every month

UTAU is completely safe. Like Stormy said, the only reason you might get a warning is because the program isn't signed off by Microsoft (this can also happen with drivers that come with a piece of hardware (such as an audio interface, graphic tablet, etc.).

Unless your computer is really old (XP old) or you're on linux, you don't need to use any of the aforementioned: 2.77, applocale, patches, any of that.

If you're running a modern Windows machine (vista/7 up to 10 insider preview) : change your system locale to Japanese. Download from the official site: http://utau2008.xrea.jp/ At the very top, there's 4.18e - that comes with English (mostly) built in [it requires locale in Japanese because its coding is non-unicode and even with English UI, it can't be properly read without the right locale - you will get miscellaneous errors].

UTAU-Synth (for OSX) can be gotten from here: http://utau-synth.com/download.html (1.0.0 b18) it does not require changing settings or anything and should work natively.
