Tips on r pronunciation?

I feel like my Japanese r sounds are pretty solid, but I struggle with strings like nrx (with x being y+vowel, or just a vowel). The transition from n to r never seems right to me, and when I start a string with an r, I struggle too. It sounds like a soft d.

Any ideas?

I don't really think this is an issue. That's naturally how the consonant ends up sounding in those specific contexts.

if you feel comfortable making a recording of some examples, i would be willing to listen to help. i'm sure what you're experiencing is a normal sound though. i can also record myself if you'd like to hear that.
