    When I tried to reply to this thread:

    Looking for friends | UtaForum 4.0 Beta™

    It gives me a weird message like "Please enter a valid message"

    Also side note. I've noticed that when you edit your UTAU's showcase the alias and oto options reset and you have to change them every time.

    WOO. Then there was a problem where every message I typed was blank.
    I waited a few minutes and then refreshed and everything seems to be fine, now. I don't know what was going on.

    Yep that was me. Was working on the wordfilter/censorship plugin and got a wildcard wrong.

    Was trying to set wordfilters for:
    UTAU = UTAU
    UTAU = UTAU
    Polkaloid = Polkaloid

    But something went wrong... and I ended up reverting the changes.

    EDIT: Works now. Yay! Yes, the above wordfilter were completely necessary.

    AH! You scared me, but thank goodness it wasn't anything serious. What does the wordfilters do?

    @Xepheris It addresses a little pet-peve of mine... improperly pluralizing UTAU.

    That and our traditional Polkaloid wordfilter we have had since 2.0. We might add more in future if the need warrants but I only got 3 filters set right now two concerning the plural of UTAU and the last one Polkaloid.

    So the plural of "UTAU" has no "s"? (not "うたうす")

    & I assume the other is because ぽうかろいど is not to be discussed.

    UTAU can be considered among words that are their own plural form, such as moose and sheep..

    Although to be honest, the -loid suffix bothers me a million times more than accidental pluralization.

    Yes, that is the problem when borrowing words from other languages. They don't always follow your language's rules. This is one such case.

    The artist formerly known as "Kodakami" no longer exists.

    Upon further deliberation with @JeremyB796 I have decided to add two more word filters.

    "I'llSeeU-P" and "Kodakami" will both now reference his new Official P-name.

    OK, I'm not trying to open a can of worms here but I'd like to dig a little into the background of how the plural of the noun "UTAU" is the same word. I don't know Japanese but I understand "UTAU" (うたう, 歌う) is actually the verb "sing". So as a verb it has no plural form. So hasn't the fandom made it into a noun, & if so isn't it up to the fandom to decide as well the plural form of the noun?

    I take back what I said in this thread.

    I want to be able to refer to multiple UTAU characters or projects.

    Example of what this "correction" has caused:

    person 1- can you please draw my utau?
    person 2- sure, send me a ref
    person 1- no nO I MEANT U T A U S
    person 1- I HAVE SEVENTEEN

    yeah, but you're not making "utau", you're making a voicebank for utau.

    Calling them UTAU/UTAUš is actually incorrect anyway.

    More to the point I guess: why is "UTAU s" incorrect?

    Stop adding an 's' to the plural form of your Japanese loanwords.
    And thus the admin has spoken. So mote it be. [HASHTAG]#Wordfiltered[/HASHTAG]

    One upperclassman is your Senpai
    A dozen senior club members are your Senpai

    One show title is an Anime
    An entire season of titles are Anime

    One volume is a Manga
    A complete 5 volume series are Manga

    One voiceback is an UTAU
    A collection of 17 voicebanks are UTAU

    From http://english.stackexchange.com/questions/501/should-nouns-borrowed-from-japanese-be-pluralized:

    "Once a word has been borrowed into a language, it adheres to the grammar for normal words in that language. We don't borrow Japanese grammar, just words, so there is no need to use a zero plural with borrowed Japanese words."

    Common examples: ninjas, futons, hibachis, kimonos, tsunamis. Are these all "wrong" because Japanese use methods other than modifying the noun to distinguish singular from plural?
