Youtube alternative: Vimeo

So due to Google+'s forced integration with Youtube, a few other UTAU users and I have decided to start posting to Vimeo.

Vimeo has a few more limits than Youtube, as in you can't post more than one HD video a week with the free account (as for me that fits my upload pattern just fine) but it's super sleek and professional-looking and a very solid platform... AND DOESN'T REQUIRE AN ACCOUNT WITH A LOUSY SOCIAL NETWORK TO COMMENT

*coughs lightly*

So yeah, just throwing that out there, if anyone else is angry about Youtube/G+ Vimeo is a gr9 alternative.

Personally I still plan to post to Youtube at least for a little while, but I'll likely move over to Vimeo if G+ doesn't improve and fix the things it screwed up with commenting, or if things get even worse than they are now.

Just post UTAU things to the UTAU group and Vocaloid things to the Vocaloid group, I guess?

I mean the group will only show videos that you submit to it, not just everything/anything from your channel.

I've stopped using Youtube for UTAU covers after they took out video responses.
I might just plan to use Soundcloud because I don't want to waste my time making a video but I already made a Vimeo channel with 6114JN that's kind of already abandoned anyway...

Since I'm not too much of a video person and I don't depend on YouTube all that much, I'm not experiencing as much anguish with the new comment system other than replies being annoying. But all the cool kids are doing it, so here's the vimeo that I will never use.

Pssst just so you guys know, Vimeo has 2 neat features I found:

1. Crediting other Vimeo users. There's a whole section in the video settings for that, you can add people's usernames and type what they did in your work (so you could credit UST makers or artists!)

2. You can replace video files without having to make a completely new post. They count towards the weekly quota, but it's great for fixing mistakes later on. Or, say you posted twice in a week and want to update the second video from SD to HD the next week, it lets you do that.
