I mean, Im horrible in making titles so yeah xD
What's the purpose of creating multiple voicebanks for an utau? Like there's a sweet append, power, native, core, straight, dark etc. And do you guys really have to rerecord them?

Example, I made a VCV recording for my Normal VB, would I have to make another recording for my other VB's? Like one recording for the Sweet VB, another recording for the Core VB?

Im so sorry if you dont understand what Im talking about. xD
I've been struggling with english in my classes x3

You're referring to multi append voicebanks! The main purpose for creating them is to give your voicebank more expression and even give your voicebank a wider range of genres. For example, if your normal VB is too powerful or unfitting to a soft song, then you can record a softer VB that is fitting to that song and other similar songs.

And indeed, you would have to record a new, entire voicebank for those appends.

Oohhh that makes sense....ahhh the sacrifices we make to make our UTAUs better....

The reason why I recorded an Append called "Mellow" for Lychee was because her normal voice wasn't soft enough for ballads (if you try to make her normal voice more "softer" by increasing her "breath" then she sounds like she has caught a cold or something...) plus I wanted her to be better at lower ranged songs (her normal voice sounds bad in A3 and under but her Mellow can go lower than A3 (F3 is lowest what it can hit)).

Even there's nowadays Moresampler with new flags to make voices softer/more powerful(?) but it's still easier to get more realistic sound when you have for soft songs a soft-voiced VB (Append) and for rock song a power VB and so on.

When you have many Appends for same UTAU, it can sing in more different genres + when used multiple Appends at same time, used as like a multi pitch VB, then it's easier to make UTAU to sound more "emotional" (kinda like Kire or multi pitch, you know?). To make this possible you'll need to add Surffix in UTAU's oto, tho. (You know: for example to make Teto sing in her Sasayaki voice, you'll need to add 囁 - that thing is called as a Surffix.)

It really depends what reclist do you use and such.

For me recording ONE pitch (for Japanese) CV takes 30-40min, for CVVC takes 20min and for VCV 1h 30min. If you need to retake some strings, drink, take a break then it of course takes little longer than that.

For oto? Hmmm... IF I have a proper base oto.ini file for it PLUS the VB is recorded with same BGM guide (tempo) than a base's oto is, then I'll make CV* in a day, CVVC* in 2-3days and VCV* around 5-6 days(?) (I haven't done a JP VCV for a long time so don't remember how much time taken to oto that exactly)
*mono-pitch

it really depends. If VB is not recorded in tempo then, ugh, it's really time taking for me to oto it then. With CV, recorded in tempo/with BGM doesn't matter much but with CVVC or VCV you really wanna do it in tempo if you wanna save your time with oto'ing!

woah...so complex....(the oto thing though xD) for the vb...if i really work hard in it, I can finish it easily...the problem is I have high. REALLY HIGH expectations for my Utau xD 2 languages....xD Im probably gonna take a month with that...since im too lazy to finish anything TT^TT

Oh also, I know Im probably going off topic from my own ask, but I just recently downloaded Zuiga Mizuki and since he is in hiragana, I also changed the UST in hiragana....but he just wont make a sound...if I put "a" it wont sound, If i put "あ" it still wont sound. But if I put "a あ" it would make a sound. but double a's...what should I do? I cant keep repeating that process in every ust

He's a VCV (Vowel-Consonant-Vowel) Voicebank! ^-^
You need to get a Lyric Diphonizer plugin
it automatically makes it a VCV UST
(Ctrl+W then run the plugin)
