VCV Voicebank not working? (Not a locale issue)

So I'm new to UTAU, and I'm not sure what to do. I keep trying to download Akemi Kinko's voicebank, and she has multiple vbs in subfolders (not sure what the actual terms are, sorry)

However, when I try to get her to sing notes, nothing comes out. I'm using hiragana, and locale settings are for Japan. I put her in the voice folder in UTAU but that didn't do anything, and I've tried to redirecting but I'm not sure I did it correctly, because it still didn't work. Other voicebanks like Defoko and 3oDore work fine, but I can't get Akemi to work no matter what I do! Any help would be GREATLY appriciated, thanks!

EDIT: Forgot to mention, but all her voices have a desc.mrq and oto.ini files inside.

Have you tried making all the banks sing? (Of Kinko's) By that I mean opening UTAU and testing out the power and soft banks, as I recall some people having issues making one of the voicebanks work(also I know this question may sound dumb but I don't think you've listed it; have you adjusted the UST to VCV?)

Since there are multiple banks in one, chances are, they use suffixes! Check the readme to see if it explains what note suffixes each bank uses. If it doesn't have that information, then look at the oto.ini to see what they use. For example, maybe a strong "a ka" sample is labelled as "a か強". When you find out which suffixes correspond to which voicebanks, remember to add those suffixes to the lyrics of notes in the UST. If you select multiple notes, you can use the built-in tool "Suffix Broker" to add the same suffix to all of those notes at once.

Kinko's normal voicebank should at least play with no special modifications, since it's oto'd and aliased as a standard VCV. Her vocal fry, soft, and power banks are the ones with special aliases/suffixes(ie. Down arrows for soft, up arrow for power, apostrophe for vocal fry)

In cases where there are multiple pitches and voice types, I take a one sample from one folder and use that to upload in utau. Its usually just a breath sound I take out, or something random.
Ex:

I took out a breath recording

When I open it in utau, I register the bank under Tools>Options>Bank registration. I select the file I separated and then all recordings will be identified in utau. If a bank has more than one pitch, then you would stop here. However, this bank seems to be comprised of appends. With that, as kiyoteru mentioned, there may be some prefixis that my need to be manually typed in.

I checked the Oto.ini files, and each note has an english letter in front of the hiragana! I tried using "a あ" instead of the default "あ" that UTAU uses, and it worked!
I did make each of her vbs an individual voice, and it seems to work fine, but do you guys recommend combining them into one? I've seen people do it but I'm not sure how good of an idea that is. Thanks for all the replies by the way, I probably wouldn't have figured it out on my own!

Oh! It seems like you're not familiar with how VCV voicebanks work. There's many converter plugins available, one of them being bizz's iroiro plugin. The idea is that you take regular CV lyrics and add the vowel of the preceding syllable to make it smoother.
[か][え][る][の][う][た][が] becomes [- か][a え][e る][u の][o う][u た][a が].

If you revert the voicebank back to its original configuration, and try to load up the entire main folder (with subfolders and everything) as a single voicebank in UTAU, you should be able to use it all together! Just remember to use VCV USTs!
