Any way to reduce echo & reverb on samples?

Hi! I've been having a few problems when it comes to recording a powerscale voicebank since I moved home almost a year ago :annoyed:

The thing is, I don't know if it's related with the fact that my room is bigger (I guess it is) or something like that, but I can't get to record a multipitch voicebank and not getting a lot of echo and reverb on the way. It's not THAT noticeable, but I'm scared that it may affect my voicebank's quality on the long run.

All I wanted to know is if there's a way to isolate a microphone or getting rid of reverb on recordings effectively? I've searched for a couple of DIY on YouTube but people didn't seem very convinced by it :cynical: (at least with those that I founded). Also I already tried to reduce the echo by myself with some editing software, but I'm not very skilled when it comes to editing samples alone and it didn't go too well.

Before you tell me anything, no, I can't record in my wardrobe with a laptop, already tried, went horribly wrong, too small

Thanks in advance!

unfortunately after it's recorded there's nothing you can do. BUT:

when you record, hold a semi-heavy blanket behind you and make sure that behind the microphone there's no empty space (get an anti-reflection shield if you wanna go the extra mile) or just place your mic at the corner of the room. the reverb often occurs due to bad acoustics so your best bet is to try and block the space around you and your microphone so your voice doesn't escape and return as an echo!

Wow, that was fast. Don't worry about it being recorded, thankfully I always test my voicebank's tone with a few syllabes and that's when I found the problem.

I'll try those fixes! Thanks
