Some real horror...
You've recorded several pitches of your bank... All sounds well and all goes well during the otoing process... You were so confident that this library would be your magnum opus, that you forgot to plug in your external. You Ctrl+s in setparam, set to do the rest of your otoing first thing in the morning...
- The next day -
Just your luck that the day after, there's a particularly bad thunder storm, but it's no big deal. You've used electronics during bad weather and your electronics survived. Too bad Murphy's Law had it out for you, cause the power goes out in your block. You call the electric company... You wait it out. You read that book that's been gathering dust on your nightstand. You put the handheld console to good use. It's only a matter of time before that wonderful electricity is back up and running!
- 5 hours later -
Huzzah! You hear the familiar blips, beeps, and boops of electronics being turned back on! You can finally get back to wor-
"WHY WON'T YOU TURN ON?! Okay, okay... google, google... Unplug, hold power..." You're trying your best to not hyperventilate.
You follow the advice you can find on the internet, trying to do everything to bring your only vocalsynth lifeline to life. You don't have multiple machines lying around where you can swap hard drives and going to the Geek Squad is out of the question. You're cursing your luck that the bank wasn't saved to your external. It's in your panicked prodding and with a darting of eyes that you notice a thin trail of smoke... That trail goes down to the extension cord that kept your machine powered. That old and yellowed extension cord that you've had for God knows how long looks like it's melting right at the point of contact between your machine's cord and the outlet. You can only break into mildly deranged laughter... You had been using that old thing for so long that it never crossed your mind that it would - could - fail. Alas... your machine - and therefore your bank - was lost to a burst of electric current...
