So I wanted to use the Auto Suffixer for my oto, but I noticed it said for windows, I have to convert it to UTF-8.
Anyone know how?

(EDIT: I figured out how to convert 'em, but I got a new problem. Well that's great.)

Tell us about the new problem. Surely someone here will have some insight.

Well, the new problem is that the program would let me type in the suffix, but would generate a blank oto. Why does this happen? How can I fix it?

Which program did you use? UTAU (Windows? Mac?) Setparam?

I wouldn't recommend using that. You can add suffixes in SetParam using Tools > Change Aliases and type %a[YOUR SUFFIX] into Renaming Rule.

If you need to convert files from Shift-JIS to UTF-8 for any other reason in the future, you can do so with a decent text editor like Atom. Set the encoding to Shift-JIS to get the original Japanese characters, copy all the text, change the encoding to UTF-8, and paste the text back in to save it in unicode.
