Resamplers aren't working

Hi, bkh01, TIPS, and other non-standard resamplers won't work on my new computer. It has Windows 8. I even did the trick where you change the decimal symbol to a dot instead of a comma (or something like that), and it still doesn't work. Could someone help me? Also, when I downloaded the English patch of UTAU, it centered its folders in my downloads, instead of Program Files.

You shouldn't need to download the English patch to UTAU, since the latest version (4.18e) should already be in English anyway.

As for the resamplers, sometimes they just don't plain work. I hope someone else can find out if you have any specific issues, but personally I just use ones that do work instead.

First thing's first...
Is your computer properly localed? Just because UTAU's in English doesn't mean it'll work on a computer that's not localed to Japanese and it goes the same for resamplers. One way to check if it's the utau(s) or the resamplers themselves, is to ask other users to download the specific banks you're using and test them with the resamplers you're trying to work with. Sure, you could just use the resamplers that work, but the ones that work might make the voice sound like nails on a chalkboard (resampler.exe in particular for most of my banks).

My computer has been localed since I download UTAU, so I don't think that's it... And it's the resampler (I think, at least bkh01) because someone else used my UTAU and they used bkh01. Resampler.exe doesn't suit my UTAUs as well as other resamplers, but it doesn't sound terrible. However, I want it to sound better than good...Thanks for the advice

Isn't there a problem with administrator rights with the new versions of windows?
Make sure you're running UTAU with full administrator powers.
As side note, I've seen UTAU resampler.exe not working because the cmd (the black window thing) was blocked by the administrator. (Not your case as you can run resampler.exe)

Another posible issue could be a path name with weird characters (like, C:\Prögramç Filesñ한국\UTAU\). But... you know, not the case, isn't it?

Some resamplers don't work for some voicebanks for various reasons (samples in stereo, working with other than 44100Hz, low frequency noise, leprechauns, etc). But if the voicebank worked with those resamplers in your old windows then I doubt it's your case so you shouldn't worry about these issues.

RE:

irei1as is absolutely right - I forgot about that little quirk with 8/8.1 (I set all my permissions to full and turned off 'Read Only' for all the files and folders within UTAU before doing anything else - I'm running 8.1). Without setting your permissions before hand, things will be made difficult/annoying because Windows 8/8.1 cracks down on anything located in the Programs/Program 86x folders. You won't even be able to save oto progress (you have to put it in another folder like your Documents, take the utau's folder out of voice and out of UTAU's folder, and then replace the oto.ini you already have with the new one). And yes, samples being in mono/stereo, etc. etc. can impact whether the voice works with a particular resampler.

I checked my account and it said I'm the administrator, and I even gavemyself full control over the folder. but it still isn't working.
