Any Lolitas here?

Yesterday was my audition for districts, which means that I used it as an excuse for dressing all frilly! Incidentally, it also happened to be loliday yesterday(the first Saturday of December). I wasn't worried about getting strange looks from the judges since it's a blind audition, and I feel as if it boosted my confidence in audition!

I don't have any pictures, but I can tell you that I was able to audition without difficulty! Since I play clarinet, there was no worry about the sleeves restraining finger or arm movement, and the blouse was well-fitting enough to not worry about getting them stuck in the keys. Overall, I'm pleased! I won't be getting my scores until tomorrow, though.

Meanwhile, I found these lovely shoes on Bodyline! They're so elegant and pretty oxfords! I think all colors available would be able to work with what I have, though if I were to order some they're out of the beige color in my size : (

Did anyone else know about loliday yesterday?

I knew about it, but I didn't do anything for it since my comm had a meet Friday night and it would be a little much to have a meet 3 days in a row. There was a Christmas dinner party in Chicago today, I didn't go.
Plus, I didn't do anything for lolita day because I was at a family gathering to honor my cousin who died the previous year and I was not prepared to talk to my extended family about lolita, nor did I want beer on my lolita clothes.

I'm glad your audition went well! People underestimate the power of clothes! I admit I didn't realize how much clothes can make you feel nice when you have clothes that make you feel and look like a lady versus society's piece of ass. (I say it like that because I think "normal" clothes for girls/women leave little to nothing to hide and just display everything like meat on a hook)

My audition went very very well! In fact, I did so well that I got in this year! I don't know my rank yet, but I got a good score and that makes me really happy! Especially since I looked good doing it! : P

It's often said that with lolita, you often have to have confidence to wear it. It stands out from the texture very easily, so you kinda have to be comfortable with yourself to wear it out in public. Maybe that's what did it...other than good old-fashioned practice practice practice : P

Ahhh so excited! I'd think about packing some lolita for the festival, though I'm not really sure yet since I don't know how my host family(whoever they are) will react lol. I'll be able to make a better decision once I learn more!

@WendytheCreeper That's so good to hear!

Has anyone else here seen the Mr.Yan body pillow? In case anyone doesn't know who Mr.Yan is, he's the guy who's in charge over at Bodyline. Yes, this is a real thing. At first I thought it would be funny to own as a gag item and I didn't really want to go out of my way to buy it, but now I really want it, but I can't seem to order it on bodyline's website.

The body pillow might be a "coming soon" item. I'm guessing they're working on preparing it for sale with a promo. It looks like a very new item, and judging by the description their physical stores aren't stocked yet.

Hehe have this thing lying around in my room like "Who's this old dude??"

People have already bought it. Their rakuten, yahoo and other Bodyline shops are selling them, so I don't know. If the main Bodyline shop doesn't give the option to buy them soon then I might just go through rakuten.
I don't have pillow to put it on, but I plan to hang it on the wall like a poster.

Oh ok. I have a friend who has a pillow, but she's not a lolita nor has she ever bought from Bodyline so she wouldn't get the joke.

I'm conflicted over this Bodyline print and whether I should shoot for getting the skirt or jsk once I have the money...
The L401 is the skirt version which has all colorways available, especially since it has my desired colorway "whpik"(light pink). Their L400 has every colorway except for the one I want! Though the green one appeals to me, the reds of the print stand out nicely there!

Which one should I try to go for?

They're booth pretty cute, but if it were me, it would depend on the price, which ever style I like more (I prefer JSKs to skirts personally) and if I have things to match it. Going of my personal opinion I would say go with the JSK because it has the colour you want, you don't have a JSK yet so if you're not against JSKs it might be a nice one to start out with, I think your shoes might match it better than the green skirt. On the plus side, I believe Bodyline is doing free shipping still, so it'll be a little over $20. I know I ordered L144 a couple days ago and got free shipping with it. If you're really torn you can get both. (hint: I can get you one.)

I think I could actually try "hinting" to my parents about this one since they're quite inexpensive and Christmas is coming(they're totally okay with me wearing lolita, in case if you've been wondering). I always find myself at a loss as for what to ask for Christmas, and my other idea, a 3DS, is kinda pricey compared to Bodyline. Wouldn't it be exciting to wake up opening a present with dress in it?! The price would be a good selling point...

I need to continue hinting about things like OTKs too. I get socks every Christmas and they're always fun socks, so maybe I can point in the right direction for socks!

Well, there you go! Doesn't hurt to ask. =)
Though I would still be willing to get one for you as well.

Hm, I'd wait a little. Part of me really wants to buy a lolita piece and be like,"I did it, I bought lolita for the first time!" I need to get good at saving money : )

I'm not sure if I want to get in on the sewing part of lolita. I'd probably be more motivated to finish stuff if I had a sewing machine, but my mom says that ours is broken/without documentation. I did pretty good with a sewing machine back in middle school, actually. And a jigsaw o_o; Part of my reluctance to get into sewing is similar to why I have trouble getting into painting: I'm scared of wasting resources. Still, sewing is super useful! Ever try your hand at sewing?

Funny thing is I orginally got my sewing machine for making cosplays back when I was still into cosplaying, but I never used it for cosplay. Now that I'm into lolita, I've been using it more. So far I've sewn myself a tote bag and a hair accessory though they're nothing to write home about. I don't have the knowledge and skill to sew dresses, or anything like that yet, but I will continue to make accessories when I need them.

They're cute : ) I should ask my knitting nut of an aunt if she can knit me nice accessories as gifts...she makes really nice things and she uses this nice yarn that doesn't fray like hell. She's currently making me another purse for me in pink : )

Sorry for the double post, but I need to talk about the lolita stuff I got for Christmas!

My "hinting" was successful and I got both the L400 and L401 for Christmas; The skirt was in pink and the jsk in green! They are very pretty...They have crochet/knit lace and both come with bows. I'll be wearing the jsk tonight!

Also, I got a surprise too: I got a pretty lace parasol! It's cream colored and it's rather lovely. I'll be working this into today's coordinate too!

I hope you all have had a Merry Christmas, or at least happy holidays : )

That's good to here! I'm glad they actually got them for you!
My boyfriend bought me bodyline's merry-go-round skirt in the yellow colorway last week, but I'm just waiting for it to get here along with the JSK of that print in black.
I'm not going to lie, I wish I could wear lolita today, but I'm pretty sure that is a bad idea for me since I really don't want to talk to my extended family about it. =/

Either way, I hope every one has had a good holiday so far!

I hope your skirt arrives safely, though it pretty much will : P

I'm also excited because I got Christmas money from my relatives, which means I can buy those oxfords I've been eyeing on Bodyline for a little while now : D I'm hoping I can also get either some bloomers or a frillier white blouse, or maybe both if I play my cards right : )

Extended family and lolita can be weird, depending on your family. My parents wanted me to wear my lolita stuff today so...they don't mind it at all! Though a lot of people can find it weird. : )

Didn't really get anything lolita from my family because they don't know about it yet, and I don't really have much anyways that I could wear. But I did get some pink towels, and drawer organizers! Oh, and lots of money. ;D Might buy a skirt off lace market or something that I can wear with my blouse and shoes that I already have. I still need to buy a petti as well.
Hope everyone had a nice holiday~

I'm kind of the guy version of a Lolita. I love to wear anything with pink, flowers, kittens, cake, sparkles, cotton candy, popcorn, and candy. I also love anything adorable.
