do normal utau voicebanks work in utau synth?

going to college and backing up my stuff to take with me when i realized that the laptop my college is giving me is a macbook air! normally i'd be thrilled to have such a cool thing but i realized that utau is a windows program and i will have to use utau synth.
i have noticed that when i downloaded some VBs such as Kikyuune Aiko english, they have a normal list of sounds and then a folder called MACOS or MAC or something similar. Does utau synth work with utau that don't have a mac folder like CZloid or Mawarinne Shuu?
edit: spelling errors

They do. I've never had problems with downloading voicebanks :-) Just a few things to note while switching over to mac is that you cannot use plugins/samplers... I know it sucks :sad: It's not much different but you should use the english patch. Have fun with your limited utau life ;v;

windows utau vbs work in utau-synth out of the box, however the other way around is not true.
you will need to open the oto_ini.txt in the oto editor and save it to make a mac vb work on Windows.

the macos folder can be ignored for Windows users.

That being said, you can actually run windows utau in macusing Wine. It will be a tad laggy though

Yes they do! The easiest way of doing so is putting .utau/.utauvoice at the end of the VB folder.
Although you can open UTAU-Synth and just highlight a folder and it will open the voicebank like that, the ".utau method"(?) is more convenient.

By the way, UTAU doesn't run properly at all through Wine. To save you the trouble, I don't recommend doing so.

Thanks! I will try to see if Wine works with Utau like Adlez27 suggested. If not, I will definitely keep your advice in mind when working with/ converting my stuff to utau synth.

No?? I do so and it works fine??
Thanks, I'll have to try this Wine program. Do plug ins and extra things work with Wine?

thanks for the advice, i didn't know the plugins don't work on utau synth. i depend on those for suffixes. i was surprised when i learned that it was only a 30 day trial program and you have to reinstall it all the time. why would the creator make something so painful like that?

You don't have to reinstall it all the time- just enter a new code. There's also a built-in tool for suffixes.

I personally use wineskin for PC UTAU, if you want me to walk you through the installation process for that let me know once you get your new computer.
