I think I have another new good trend:
Overseas UTAUs preferring CVVC over VCV. VCV is still awesome to use, buuut well imo CVVC is just better, as its as smooth but way quicket otod and recorded

See, I'm the opposite. I like VCV (for Japanese banks) much better than CVVC. I feel like VCV is smoother and I still don't understand how to oto CVVC. Like Yamine Renri (who is arguably one of the most smooth and realistic UTAUs) is a VCV

VCV and CVVC imo are just as smooth, its just that VCV is easier made smooth, because many still don't understand how to truly make CVVC smooth.

Also another trend I hate is when back in the olden days when quite a few Utau users wanted their Utau to be Vocaloids or something and made crappy banks with designs more or less crappier to boot...
and ohgod selling these awful banks is a no-noooo

I feel like one of the best trends in the community is that there's an increasing culture of writing original songs. More specifically to UTAU, I agree with some past posts in this thread about non-Japanese voicebanks. Not to say that Japan is bad, but I really like the idea that the overseas community can rely on itself to create and derive content.

Best trends:
-People being supportive of utau even if they're not...the best. Everyone starts somewhere!
-Original songs and people enjoying them
-Having fun with your utau

Worst trends:
-Everyone said the crypton thing but i have to mention it again because...its bad
-Nitton's boobs or overly exaggerated boobs in general
-Overly sexualized utau for the sake of being edgy
-overly edgy utau for the sake of being edgy and cool
-yandere/tsundere/dere anything
-plug and play (i'm a person who suffers from this dfggf)
-Macne copies

Didn't even know this was a trend.
Look ma, I'm trendy xD

I feel like some of the best trends were power/shout banks and people adding vocal fry and glottal stops to their banks.
I kinda think the trend of creating a commercial license for an utau was good(?) because people like to sell their music and ya know
They don't actually gotta buy an utau vb. I see the purchasable license as a "just in case" thing if tgat makes sense

Worst trends are commercial utau I'm not talking about the ones that come with physical copies
I'm talking about the ones that are only digital download
Nothing physical.
Also the time when a few utau users were serious about turning their utau into a vocaloid or cevio.

As someone who deeply appreciates Len's design, I have to admit I do enjoy UTAU voicebanks that follow Crypton trends. lmao sorry

But I do wish we had more Victorian/suit/old-timey dress UTAU characters. I find things like that to be really aesthetic.

I can't name a bad trend tbh.

I actually have a plan for old-timey (...whatever?) voicebanks, but i just got onto utau and dont have any voice provider that matches X-X
