i believe there's two kinds of snowballs?? i have the more expensive one that's just called snowball, i think. my brother has the ice. i'm not sure of the difference in quality between the two kinds, but both of them seem to work for me!
seems like a lot of people use snowballs for utau stuff, so i recommend it!

I don't record regular voicebanks but for the record I have a BM-700 that cost me $20 because I was broke when I bought it and I still am broke but oh well. I do instrument UTAUs anyway and if I'm recording samples for them it's good enough (either that or I'll use my laptop mic because laziness).

Btw, the two snowballs are the sameish.
The more expensive "standard" snowball is the original which has cardioid and omni.
The ICE version is slightly cheaper and only jas cardioid.

That being said...the snowball is kinda cheap and noisy.

The CAD GXL2400-usb is made of metal and such if that matters. I bought one to test before recommending it and I literally tortured it lol. It's a bit clearer sounding.

Just a heads up, the regular AT2020usb is the same as the AT2020usb+ in terms of sound so you can save your money on that.

I have heard good things about the AT series(Audio Technica) for crispness and doesn't need phantom power. Sound's like something I would specifically want to save some money for. As a joke, recorded a voicebank on a nintendo ds mic that was surprisingly okay for whisper vocals(Obviously never do this) ...
Blue Snowball/Yeti are common for those stepping into recording, I heard for budget. However specifically what are the flaws and drawbacks on them in anyone's experience(I am curious). Was it excess noise, clarity, picky
about volume?

I am poor so I have a CADu37, and I picked it because I had a $50 gift card LEL but it actually works pretty well I think, just happens to have been used in a rather noisy environment in my case.

the soft bank i recorded before turned out like this

Such a nice voice (Im such a loser for breathy voices -dead-). It does appear condenser mic's ar
e pretty reliable for "soft" recording.

Aa thank you ;0;! It's not completely free of background resultant engine noise but I'm pretty happy with it :uhuhu:

Actually condensers do fine. Your mic can only perform as well as your room.

If you have a cow mooing the next room over ofc it'll get in the way.
