Any Tuning/Mixing Critiques?

This is my first time making a UTAU cover so it sounds a bit.... “wonky” per say.
I’m also new to this forum, so apologies if I do anything stupid while I’m trying to figure it out.

(I also probably should’ve redrawn that picture of Ritsu)

Which voicebanks of theirs are you using? The vocals sound choppy, which might be because of using CV instead of VCV, or improper fitting of the UST. This might be a quirk of the UST itself though, but I'm not familiar with it.

And what program are you mixing them in? The vocals are at a reasonable level, if a bit loud, but they could stand to blend better with the use of some reverb. The acoustic instrumental is already reverberant, so it would give the impression that the guitars and singers are in the same "room" together.

Firstly, yeah, I’m guilty of using CV voicebanks for each of them, hah. I tried to convert the ust to a VCV voicebank, but it didn’t work (it sounded really odd...), and I’m just realizing now that it was probably because I didn’t fit the UST to the voicebank. Beginner mistake, I guess.
Secondly, I mixed this in Audacity.
Thirdly, I can barely mix things for the life of me so thanks for the advice. I appreciate it.

Because of the way that audacity applies effects, it can be difficult to tell if you are using settings that will sound good with the music until after it's already been edited. You should look into proper music software, where you can edit the effects while listening and without permanently altering the audio. There's a lot of stuff listed here, like free DAWs and effects plugins: http://utaforum.net/resources/songwriting-resources.181/

Try this to get you started. (Usually you want a reverb that is noticable when the track is solo'd, but not when mixed!)

Also, http://www.emusician.com/gear/1332/cheat-sheet-reverb-parameters/38871

If you need help mixing a project, there's a lot of people around here who like that sort of thing!

Also, while I like the higher voice, I feel like the lower one needs a little more tweaking (either in her part of the UST or her oto), she sounds a little hesitant, like she's not quite jumping on those notes when she should be.

Sounds p good though.
