About animal appendages on UTAU's (especially cat ears)

For Ongaku's new design I was going to give him his wolf ears and a tail (he is originally a grey wolf). But I would like to see something different, like and UTAU with antlers XD

I don't get annoyed with cat ears or tails or any animal appendages on UTAU's. I mean it gets tiring and very over-used but to me, a character is a character. Them being animal theme doesn't really bother me. I guess, I think differently about it. XD

I never got why cats were so popular with Japanese based fandoms. Did I miss something? But yeah, cat ears are overused since when I was clicking on random pages in the wiki, I came across many of them. It would be nice to see more variety and incorporate other animals in an UTAU's design. Although, I do think that the whole ear=speakers thing like SeeU is pretty cute.

It's not that they actually dislike the cat parts itself. If it were any other animal that was as overused as cats are, people would make the same type of comment.

I think it really just comes down to the fact that people get tired of the same thing being pushed in their faces 24/7 and it does get pretty tiresome to see the same thing over and over again. People just want something different, I think.

i just have were-characters,if i do make a neko character, i have to make the costume unique otherwise boring design, i have a lion character,but he only has elf like ears and a lion tail,i dunno i say its thier design, some dont even have any XD

I was making an UTAU named Zenka Memi based after cicadas ;A; We had the 13-year cicada swarm in Nashville last summer and it inspired me to make a cicada-themed UTAU. Haven't been able to make a decent voice for her though so you beat me there XD

Speaking from having a cat-eared UTAU myself:

Hater's- they gon' hate.
Look. There's over 2000 UTAU's as it is. Who cares?
If you want to tack on cat ears for the hell of it, do it.
Because who cares?
Sure, design plays a bit in popularity and how people perceive the UTAU, but if you want to stand out with cat ears, don't make a walking trope. (read; oozing kawaii from their ears)
Because creative if you must, but if you want to do your thing and ignore opinions and flaming, don't make it typical.

By the end of the day it boils down to either two things for someone;

1. This is a popularity contest "Y NO EVERYONE LIKE MY KAWAII SUGARNEKO SPARKLE-CHAN DESU??????????"
2. "You know, I had fun working on my UTAU- With cat ears. I said it. Cat ears. I had fun. Deal with it. I had more fun doing what I like."

((My bad if that made no damn sense.))

I personally don't like it when UTAU users put on cat-ears, mainly because not just in the UTAU world but in many other places (i.e. one place that cat-girls are abused are in roleplaying sites), and it just makes me think that these people are weaboos, or something.

I'm not totally against it, and I don't go saying that it sucks and all, because there really aren't a lot of UTAU with cat-ears. My UTAU has animal-accessories, but not cat-ears. Only a rabbit-based headphone and clip. c:

Well, Mitsuki has cat ears, but her design has been my general "internet persona" for years, long before UTAU. Those cat ears have been there since it wasn't quite as overused, and I just can't stand to part with them even though I don't even know why I have them.

If the cat ears don't fit with the rest of the design, it won't look good >_>
If you want a Kawaiidesune-Utau do something else! Cats are not the only thing that's cute in the world! duh.

But I don't look that much after designs, If it's UTAU the voice matters!
