Microphone recommendations?

My budget, I guess is as long as it doesn't go over $200 - $300, I'm good.

The only thing I'm using it for UTAU wise is a VCV bank, possibly a tripitch, but I'm not sure yet. I just know that the last time I recorded a bank, it came out really strange and metallic sounding.

My UTAU's voice sounded strained AF. Like her voice is just outright unpleasant to listen to.

Maybe it's because of how I recorded it, but either way, I'd like a fresh start LOL Here's how it sounds at the moment

My current mic is a Blue Snowball, so we know what that's like lol

Found this on another forum, would it be good? (AT2020) Or are there better mics that have come out since?

Oh wow, that's pretty clear :O I like how it sounds a lot! Seems like Audio Technica is pretty good. I noticed a couple people have listed that particular mic, as well as the AT2020

• AT2020
• MXL 006
• MXL 008
• Monoprice Large Diaphragm Condenser USB Microphone
• MXL 770

These are from forums that seem to be from 2015 though, so not entirely sure how accurate it is now.

Oh yeah, I can hear the quality difference : O Does the MXL V67G need a mixer or something like that of some sort? I know there are mics that aren't USB that usually need something extra.
