Hello, New Here (Also Advice Thread)

Teto's Territory
I just joined and I have downloaded Denki Sai CV because Galvan Ize [Theory] was being an ass. I was so upset, I uninstalled and deleted Ize. I am super apprehensive to download VCV because (for some reason) VCV refused to cooperate with me at first. Maybe it's because I just don't know how to use it. I haven't downloaded Yamine Renri as of yet. I'm thinking about downloading Kimchi-Tan's, Akem's, ragey's, and Revolocities' UTAU.

I plan to cover beginner UTAU songs (songs people are tired of) like KOKORO, glow, Servant of Evil-Classical Version II (not so well known as the first), and maybe some old VOCALOID songs for some sad nostalgia.

Examples of old VOCALOID songs: Campanella, Domino Taoshi, Sasameke, Sky Fish, Yubikiri, etc.

I'll later cover more difficult songs like A Liar's World, One Eye's Monologue, The Beast., quiet room, etc.

I have a couple of questions to ask because I am having trouble.

First question: What are good examples of Good Multipitch UTAU? CV is preferred, but I can go with VCV as well. I just want a Multipitch Denki Sai and Galvan Ize, but the Download is not available to my discontent.

Second (I'll add context): UtauColors allows me to add colors when I save, but every time I exit out out of the program, the UTAU program is still its default color. Is there an extra step that I'm missing? Also, if there's translations for the software, that would be so helpful. What theme do you have?

(Please don't mind the imgur image thing, I'm almost sure it's an error, just copy and paste the link I provided into a searchengine).

Fourth: How do I work with CVVC and VCV? What are the Basics?

Fifth: How do I download the "Clipboard" in Yuunarii's 'Plugins' tutorial? I attempted to download the feature, but that proved difficult when the extraction with the plugins would refuse to work.

Sixth: I want to name the notepad features for the plugins to make the plugin names English, but for some reason, they would not be renamed and instead, would remain as the Japanese Plugin name.

Seventh: What's the best free alternative to FL Studio for mixing and making UST, or is there an actual free version of FL Studio? I have Audacity.

(Again, don't mind the imgur thing, I'm almost sure it's an error, just copy and paste the link I provided into a searchengine).

Eighth: (In case I can't understand mixing): Who are the best people to Commission for mixing UTAU soundtrack?

If you answered, thank you so much!! Have a good day!! I only decided to make a long thread so other beginners would find this. :sing:

i'll try to answer these to the best of my ability!!

1) i'm not sure since i don't use multipitch UTAUs (yet), but if you're a beginner, i'd really stick to the basics with their monopitch UTAUs, unless you find a good tutorial. to my knowledge, most multipitch UTAUs are VCV

2) maybe this thread will help you with UTAU colors? idk, UTAU colors was being super dumb for me when i reinstalled UTAU

3) ooo boy, VCV and CVVC took me about two years before i got the hang of it. VCV works like this-- a CV UST would look like this [ko] [n] [ni] [chi] [wa] (i'm typing it in romaji bc lazy/idk if you can read hiragana). a VCV UST would look like this [- ko] [o n] [n ni] [i chi] [i wa]. VCV stands for vowel consonant vowel and it's designed to flow better when singing. japanese is perfect for this because it's a pattern of consonant, vowel, consonant. n counts as a vowel in japanese (i believe, idk).

as for CVVC, consonant vowel vowel consonant, for japanese, it'd look like this [- ko] [o n] [ni] [i ch] [chi] [i w] [wa]. it's just another way for a voicebank to sound smoother, i personally don't use CVVC japanese unless it's for english covers. honestly?? i wouldn't worry about any of this stuff since you're a beginner, but it's good to want to improve later in the future. the more you use UTAU, the more you'll learn by yourself. VCV is kinda scary at first, but for now, just stick with CV until you get the hang of it.

for VCV and CVVC, if you wanna convert a CV UST into VCV or CVVC, you'll need a plug-in unless you get the shareware version of UTAU lol, it's really handy

4) idk about that plugin, but personally, i open UTAU, go to tools > plug-ins > open plug-in folder, then extract it into the plug-in folder. mine opens up two plug-in folders so i just pop it in both and hope for the best, sometimes plug-ins are dumb lol

5) i'm not sure about that one, i'm sure there's a way to rename them to english?? idk, but if you know your plug-ins well, you won't find it necessary for the plug-ins to be named in english

6) audacity works just fine! here's some mixing tutorials: mixing tutorial A, mixing tutorial B. i use audacity all the time and it's perfect for beginners

7) i'm not sure since i mix by myself. honestly? i'd just worry about getting the vocals lined up with the instrumental and play around with it from there, that's what i did for a loooong time until i finally asked a friend how to mix.

i hope this helps!! :uhuhu:

Ok, I DM'd you!

It's a shame I couldn't share all of that information with the rest of the community, though. If you were to put these questions on UTAhelp I'll be able to post what I wrote for everyone else!
