Hi there,
New member here, and semi-new to VCV.
To start off, I have created a number of CV voice banks in the past, and my own UTAU celebrates her 4th birthday pretty soon. But as expected, I wanted to try some new recording techniques, and I have always been interested in how a VCV voice worked exactly. So ... I tried it myself, but by doing so I just ... stumble from confusion upon confusion upon confusion.
After following a number of tutorials on oto-ing, I think I figured out the basics of how it is done. Aliassing went fine, with some exceptions on single consonants, which I still don't understand, or vowels -R ..
However, my main issue is the sound itself. For the most part, the VCV voice bank skips about 96% of any VCV UST I tried. And the few notes she does sing, sound garbled at best, or it skips a part of the note all together.
(a ba, for example, she'll only sing the a part)
Which made me think it was an oto-related issue.. However, a friend of mine did her own version of oto-edits on the same voice bank, and though she reads more notes, that version also sounds garbled at best.
I re-recorded the same reclist (which combines lite- basic and advanced, which the original 2 VCV voice banks followed as well), and tho I have only done about 5% of the oto on that voice bank, it also sounds garbled.
I think my oto-edits might be off, cuz the aliasses are copied from Matsudappoiyo, so I doubt that's the issue.
small note: Even Matsudappoiyo's voice bank struggles with certain USTs .. which surprised me.
I'll include some images of the voice bank itself, so you can have a look for yourselves.

Now, I didn't localize my laptop, which has never been an issue before. But if it is, please do let me know how to change the settings.
All by all, I am very confused, as I've reached out for help elsewhere, but I haven't gotten a difinitive explanation or form of help all together.
Can anyone clear some things out? I'd greatly appreciate it.
