UAR Formatting - How to make a .UAR file for easy UTAUloid installation

Putting a directly into your UTAU folder can be a hassle, especially for newer users. To make their lives easier, you can format your voicebank to be a .UAR file. This is sort of like an executable file which installs an UTAU for you -- No dragging into the voices folder or into UTAU. To do this, first isolate your voicebank in a folder. Then proceed to create a .TXT file named "install.txt". In this, the contents should be:

type=voiceset
folder=<Preferably UTAU Name>
contentsdir=<Same as...

Here's just a quick little note.

For "folder=" it should be the name of the voicebank folder that's in the ZIP file.
For "contentsdir=" it'll be the name of the folder once it's in utau\voice\

Kasane Teto's voicebanks take advantage of this by having each new voicebank install to the same parent folder. This could be useful if you want to provide a multiset voicebank in multiple parts but still be self-installing.

I can't change the .zip to a .uar?
I checked the install.txt a thousand times but whenever I rename the .zip and add '.uar' on the end, it stays the same?

Do you have file types turned on? As in, can you see what the file types are? (i.e. 'utau.exe' or 'dxd100.dll' or 'photo.png')

Can you show me how? I'm on Windows 10(and hating it) and I need to turn one from a .uar to a .zip.

If you still need it, click "file" at the top left, hit options, go into the view tab, and uncheck the "Hide extensions for known file types".

I know this thread is dead, but im doing everything right, but when i test it, it says "Installation file not found" (there is an install.txt. should the folder names be in english characters??)

edit: nevermind (fixed by selecting the folder and the install and zipping it, not the folder they were in)

hey, guys, I seem, to be having issues with the installation type, I might just be overlooking something but I don't know what, when I activate the uar it pops up with a message saying "unknown installation type" I don't know what I'm doing wrong?

You'll need to fix your install.txt file.
INI:
type=voiceset
folder=Hakaine Maiko
contentsdir=UTAU_hakainemaiko
description=This is a plain written description of the voicebank

i'm currently having issues with getting my installer to work-

i'm pretty sure this should be right?

i selected both the folder and the install.txt, zipped it, then changed the file extension and it still doesn't work. before i was able to just have the txt in a zip folder with the vb, and just dragged n dropped the zip file into utau for installation qnq

edit: this is only a problem with my cv voicebanks
