What is your least favorite step in making an Utau and your favorite??

Favorite part: otoing.
I know it sounds weird, but I mean I haven't experienced the horrors of VCV yet, and I just really enjoy working with each sound in a CV bank to get them to work correctly..? XD;

Recording used to be my favorite, but now it's just tedious and I keep having to record in multiple takes to get the voicebank how I want it.

I've recently gotten into compressing my sound files before exporting them so now the bane of my existence is selecting each sound for export. And hiragana aliasing by hand since the voice bank aliaser seems to poop with my ↑↓sets.

I miss oremo's luxuries ;ヮ;

My now favorite is otoing VCVs ouo/

Oi, the recording is the worst portion for me. I try to get through a list in a day or two to ensure the samples are all relatively similar, but I'm then hoarse for the next week or so. euo;;

The best part is, as said before, hearing a finished voice and having a hard time believing it's you. XD

ooooh yeah pictures are annoying at times too xD Especially for me cuz I always have a song all done, and I always want to make awesome videos/pvs like they do for vocaloid and such =P but when you dont have the proper programs or the ability to really draw out such awesome pieces of work.. xD

And Yeah, I agree with Myst: I really like doing the Oto for a CV bank xD

One other thing I wanted to add though.. I hate when you record a few sounds and think it sounds worst than the 1st VB ;~; or sounding too generic too =(

I used to think that recording my UTAU is the most annoying stage, but I have rerecorded so many times that I'm feeling pretty neutral about it. It's only finding some free time to record is what annoys me. xDD

There's also the effort of trying to match the tone you imagined for your UTAU. Pretty much the reason I rerecorded so many times. But I have it all figured out since last month, so it's all good.

And I don't find otoing all that tedious. Since the only UTAUs I tend to fix are mine and my friend's, it's all just a matter of copypasta-ing my working oto to the new ones and fixing it from there. (Not for my friend's though; I just edit it straight from the program itself because his has more phonemes than mine.)

And of course the best part is the mixing stage. Hearing your UTAU do a cover of a song feels rewarding in itself.

I don't think there's anything I dislike about making a bank. I love recording, and I kind of love oto'ing, but mainly due to the results.
I hate waiting to hear the results though, if that counts.

As for recording, oremo really does help a lot. You simply hold a button to record, and press an arrow key to change entry in the reclist. Oremo will automatically save and name your sample according to your reclist.

As an extension, I'm not 100% sure, but I think that there's an automatic-oto'ing tool out there, it might even be part of oremo. I recently finished up (at least a part of the bank) Scott VCV

What baffled me was how accurate the oto'ing was, but it was still unsynched and badly timed, as if it was automatically generated (download the link from >822 if you'd like to see).
I could be wrong and someone could've thrown the oto together, but it isn't really harder to do it properly.

Favorite: probably recording and making the concept art. Also, playing with the voice.

Least favorite: waiting for .frq files to generate. Some of the design parts can get tedious too, if I've recorded the voice already and don't know what the design should look like. D: (This is why I always do little doodles of the design before I record.) Also, processing every file. (noise removal, compressing, and in CACTLOID's case, pitch-shifting)

Hmm, I like recording the most, I think. I'm starting to experiment with different voices I can put on, as my first UTAU, I just stuck with my normal voice.
Hmm, I didn't like to oto, I was so random in going about it, but I guess it's worked. I'd rather someone else do it next time >.<'''
I didn't mind the designing stage either, it's just that I suck at drawing in an anime/manga style. I don't have much time to practise it, and I'm not allowed to draw in anything near that style for my art A-Level -.- Plus making digital art is a pain in the bum when you don't have a drawing tablet or even a proper mouse (laptop...yay...x_x) But I enjoy commissioning other people to create something better using my original design XD

My favourite parts are recording and making up a design~ That's weird my recordings for my latest voicebank took 6 minutes xD And I also like doing a little voice acting, like trying to make a KAWAII DESU voice for a sweet append. That's very fun~

I usually discuss possible designs with my friends in school, then we're scribbling our design ideas and so on.

What I don't like is otoing. While I'm pretty fast with CV, I'm awfully slow when otoing vcv and cv-vc...And I'm too inpatient for that.  I 'd rather instantly listen to the voice than sitting there and oto for hours T.T

Least favourite is recording and cutting samples. The former more because my voice annoys me and I often muck stuff up than because recording is tedious. Cutting is the boring part for me, because I use REAPER and it just takes so long and I get bored really quickly.

I do enjoy trying to think up a good design and character, as well as experimenting with voices and accents and styles. I also, funnily, enjoy oto'ing, because it's quite methodical- once you know what everything does, it's just a matter of moving some lines until it sounds decent. I don't mind that.

My least favorite would have been otoing but ShinaichiVocaloid did that for me. I think for me it was the recording. I just really wanted to hear how it sounded.
My favorite was hearing how it sounded. It was very rewarding that the work was over.

I'm not the biggest fan of recording, since its tedious. On the other hand, I actually don't mind otoing XD I do like designing as well.

My least favorite is oto'ing. I don't get it so every time I finish I'm just disappointed, and start over again until I give up...

Designing is a lot of fun, though.

My least favourite  thing ever is OTOing.  I would legit say "**** otos" if they weren't  so needed.
No matter what I will never  like OTOing.

My favourite part is recording though, It's fun, Not as fun as  mixing  is though.. but that's for after the UTAU is finished.

OTOing (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻

But favorite part is actually designing the UTAU and deciding on his/her personality and stuff ^u^

I'm actually the opposite of most people. I like oto'ing and I hate recording.

Recording is the bane of my existence, mostly because I'm a perfectionist and I usually re-record everything seven times because either my voice shook or I had an accent or I didn't sound like I wanted to...etc.
