It's free like UTAU, but it's a Chinese program, I believe. The program is called NIAONiao, created by Dsound. Here are some videos and a website. The voices sound a little... unique, as a light way of putting it.

  • You can insert notes just like vocaloid, so there aren't any spaces.
  • The files you can import are nn (which is it's own composition file), vsqx, MIDI, and usts.
  • If you enter Mandarin symbols, they will actually play with preset settings- but not with all voicebanks.
  • It supports Japanese and Korean symbols but you cannot do anything with them.
  • Composition is a lot easier because you click on the pitch and it plays for you, like in vocaloid.

That's all I know about it. I haven't actually used the program and I do not know how to use it or know how to make a 'NIAONiaoloid'.

This sounds interesting.
I'm definitely going to try to make one, especially since I'm Chinese, and therefor read/write it anyway o3o

I've been planning a Chinese bank anyway =w=

Looks very cool! I downloaded the japanese version : P I haven't figured out the interface yet, but it's certainly unique... apparently the english beta is supposed to come out in Feburary 2012? d'awww XD

That would be very awesome. You don't really see many Chinese LOIDS out there.

As for the chinese version, it looks like all of the mirrors for download require you to sign up...I'm guessing. Is that what's going on?

AH Lotte told me about that on twitter earlier.
I have high hopes on these because chinese peeps seems to be working really hard on these. Also its new so everyone is excited about it and stuff. I hope it gets better, right now is vocalina-liek quality wise.

And yes kit, all mirrors need register > _<

This seems kinda interesting. I'm kinda curious to see what the Chinese Fandom will produce with this software. Maybe I'll download it.

I've got it, but the menu labels, etc. are missing! (I use it in Wine, maybe some mojibake ruined it)
