Is mixing with headphones good or not?

I'm starting to use FL Studio to mix and I'm using my sister's headphones since it's more louder than earphones but the phones have a similar shape/padding to this which filters out some frequncies when I compared it to my earphones.

Does it mess up with the volume I'm hearing or not?

I'm sorry if this is the "wrong forum" to post this OTL

Well my headphones have a flat response so no extra bass or treble. I think those are good for mixing =w=b It shouldn't effect the volume too much but if you want to be sure then either use your earphones ORRRRRRRR plug the headphones out and play around with the volume. ^w^

Disclaimer: I suck at mixing. But I've been told that headphones in general don't represent the mix right, just by virtue of being so close to your ear. If you look at music blogs like musicradar, it isn't unusual to find tips on fudging EQ work with headphones, or whispers of high tech headphones that use trickery to pour the sound into your ears correctly.

As I understand it, what you really want is two monitors placed at ear level, which is prolly better than headphones even if the acoustic space isn't ideal. That's what you probably wanna aim at if mixing is something you do regularly.

I always mix with my headphones , when i don't i tend to make my vocals way too loud(;; i'm quite fond of clear consonants + vocals that you can hear; that aren't drowned out by too much reverb/echo or the off vocal.)

But before i upload a cover to YT i always listen to the mixing without headphones to make sure if it sounds good to me or not. ^^

It's all up to you though finding what works better for you and ;o its always helpful to ask friends/others to comment/critique your mixing so you get a better feel for it
