New VOCALOID4 Engloid: Ruby

I have the same feel as Lui, honestly the samples showed of very different usages of her, I think all were decent except one at the end. I do have the feeling that many of the samples were likely created with Cyva then hurridly had Ruby plugged into them. For instance her Hibikase sample from a few weeks ago - tuning is good but pronunciation was garbled because it was done with Cyva then she was plugged in and when you use Ruby you need to use her greatly expanded phonetic library.

I just think she's like Sachiko in that her voice is very difficult to work with and make sound good but when you do it well she sounds amazing. (tho all engloids really haha)

All voicebanks in general I4d even say haha ='D

But yeah, even Hands, it was originally made with CD before they test it on Ruby if I recall well

The way I think of the difference between Ruby and Cyva: Cyva's one of those "cool moms" who tries to be hip with the teens and Ruby is actually a teen

This headcanon was largely inspired by the fact one of the tags on Jenny Shima's post about being Cyva was "working mommy"

CD to me as this kinda airy, light, nearly "omg I loooove this look at this outfit i wanna get it, oh and did you know aboutbblablabla im a diva you know blablabla " and trying to be seductive (kinda like if you were mashing up Luka with the tiny nasal/divaesque Miku's voice has)

Whereas Ruby sounds a bt more shaky-like, more prone to vibrato, slightly lower-pitched and more.... Well I wouldn't say "brattier" but rather edgier, outbursting

lol yeah, even though cyva is kind of higher-pitched she sounds a bit older. plus cyva has some phonemes that sound weird, like the long e and w, that are dead giveaways.

I don't think Ruby sounds like Cyber Diva. They're both nasally, but that's about it.
Additionally, it appears that some just don't know how PFX does their 'marketing', if you can call it that. Oliver received a lot of marketing as he was made by VocaTone. Ruby received demos and support from community as Syo was the only one developing her voicebank. All PFX has done was distribute them. On another hand, a Vocaloid that was fully made by PFX, YOHIOloid, has received some demos and attention from them (i.e. the official artwork contest). Whilst they probably should care for Ruby more since they'll be making profit off of her, they probably left all the marketing up to Syo, similarly like they've done it with VocaTone.

everyone seems to be saying she sounds like cyva? I honestly think almost all of the engloids sound extremely similar.

\There are so many engloids that don't sound similar, but I usually have a hard time differentiating between certain ones, because they sound so similar.

//yeah I don't listen to them too much. Especially the newer engloids and such.

Even if people claim that they don't sound the same, you can't deny that Ruby is extremely nasal and most people find nasal singing gross af.

Real singers don't that (or at least do it tastefully)....Last thing I want to hear is someone singing like their head is a nose attached to a neck

all we need now is Ruby art where her face is a giant nose lol

whelp she's still popular and many enjoy her voice. and by definition cyber diva is just as nasal. i find her lovely personally

I'm not sure if you thinking (or think) like me, but for me, Ruby sound like CUL and sometimes, i think it's the English VB of CUL.
