Single Reclist oto.ini Easy English CVVC ARPABET / X-SAMPA Reclist 88 Lines 4 Moras 3.2

This reclist is based on the X-SAMPA Delta reclist, but even more compressed. There are two versions. The first one, the original X-SAMPA reclist. The second one, the translated version to ARPABET.

The oto contains CV, V, C, and VC. The C is like the Japanese single phoneme ん, but expanded to other consonants as well (except for stop and affricate consonants, more information about the consonants on the oto section below).

There are no diphthong recordings in this reclist. To create diphthongs, we used a combination of the monophthongs. See oto section below.

There's an UST example included on the reclist.

4. IMPORTANT TIPS:

  1. Record each line in one breath and string them together. For example, read "a-la-ma-na" as "allammanna".
  2. Don't quickly switch from consonants to the next vowel. Hold the consonants as long as the vowels.
  3. If you aim for correctness, you might want to compare the IPA symbols used in this reclist to your language to see if there are same vowels or consonants in your language. You can see the IPA list of your language by opening this link: wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:IPA/Spanish. Just change Spanish to the name of your language in English (Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, German, Norwegian, etc).

8. OTO:

Consonants are separated in to five groups:
  1. Fricatives (s, z, S, Z, f, v, T, D, h) / (s, z, sh, zh, f, v, th, dh, hh)
  2. Nasals (m, n, N) / (m, n, ng)
  3. Approximants (j, l, r, w) / (y, l, r, w)
  4. Stops (p, b, t, d, k, g)
  5. Affricates (tS, dZ) / (ch, jh)

I recommend using setParam to oto this reclist.
  1. After you copy the base oto to your voicebank folder, open up the voicebank through setParam.
  2. Go to Options -> Mouse and Key Settings -> When Left Blank is Modified -> Check Other Parameters are Modified Accordingly.
  3. Move the left blank according to the type:
    • For CV affricates, move the left blank marker so that the overlap is positioned before the fricative starts. Then adjust the preutterance and consonants manually.
    • For any other CV and all VC, click and drag the left blank marker so that the preutterance is positioned between the consonant and vowel.
    • For C and V, click and drag the left blank marker so that the left blank marker is on the steady consonant or vowel region.
  4. Adjust the Right Blank marker if needed.
  5. Go to the next row, and repeat step 3 and 4.
