After some searching, problem solved -- The folder I thought was Teto's Sakebi bank, was not Sakebi... had to re-extract the zip, and now I do have the actual Sakebi folder inside Teto's voice library. Tried it out with the suffix, and it works now. Thank you!

That might be the problem! Inside UTAU's voice folder, there's Teto's voice library (重音テト音声ライブラリー) and the inside of that folder looks like this. Do I need to move the folder containing the Sakebi VCV into the VCV folder itself? thanks!

Hi! (I don't know how much knowledge of music theory you have, so my apologies if this isn't the answer you're looking for!) When you import the MIDI and the notes are too high for the UTAU's range, in order to ensure that the vocals are still in the same key as the instrumentals you're using...

Depends on which DAW you're using, but usually under the "File" menu there should be an option for "Import," where you can select the MIDI file and it'll open it in a new piano roll track. [I use LMMS so this is based off my personal experience with it :)]
