won't play

So I just downloaded and installed utau. I changed the system locale, made sure the dot and decimals were in the right place, and I can make Defoko sing. However I can only make her sing "A" and if I try to change the lyric by typing in the lyric bar, or manually, it doesn't work and just greys...
