Analog synth?

I'm thinking about getting a small, cheap analog synth to start out with. Since I'm young, this means I'm pestering my dad about buying it for me as a gift, which means I'm probably not doing something like buying all 4 Volcas. I've narrowed things down to two synths.

Gakken SX-150 MARK II
Korg Monotron

Which one should I get as my first synth? If the Monotron, I'm planning to get the regular one, but any reasons to get Monotron Duo or Monotron Delay instead?

Collecting all those *trons and Gakkens and Volcas and such can become a bit of a money sink, but if you take the time to tell their sounds apart or learn to solder and modify them, they're worthwhile in their own way. If you're learning from your Duo, it's already worth it.

Sadly, I find software synths so much easier to get to the sound I want, that I'll usually only use the Mono and Gakken I have for special effects. I'm not sure where my stylophone went, it's been a year or two since I last played it.
