French and Japanese CeVIO: ALYS

Originally destined to be the first French VOCALOID, ALYS has made a Software Jump and is now being developed for CeVIO Creative Studio.

She is being developed by VoxWave, her voice provider is Poucet, and her illustrator is Saphirya.

She will have the capability to speak and sing in both French and Japanese, which makes her the second singing compatible voice, the first French compatible singing voice, the fourth Japanese compatible speaking voice, and he first French compatible speaking voice for the software.

I think part of the reason they went with CeVIO is that I don't think Vocaloids supports French? IDK, I'm not sure how the software works but V1 and V2 didn't exactly support Spanish or Korean, so maybe it was too soon for ALYS ; ;

Indeed it was said it couldn't support French, and thus they had no other choice than making her on CeVIO (besides the "she'll get a wider audience more easily)

I wonder just how many people will actually use ALYS since she's CeVIO now, I mean I've only played around in the free version of it and it feels quite different to Vocaloid or UTAU (damn you, muscle memory!). The engine noise (if that's what it's called) also reminds me of Sinsy, too (though I've heard great covers with Sasara that manage to mask that). I'd love to do a cover of Odette with ALYS just because it has one French line in it LOL.

Well, honestly I don't think CeVIO sounds that terribad (but after it may be my bad ears)... And justly, they think people would go onto ALYS and CeVIO because it's less expensive than VOCALOID.... But well, sadly we still have yet to see this =/

And for Sinsy hmm... After that may be due to Sinsy's mature tone (yeaah I knw, it's one bank amongst tohers but Iforgot her name..Xiang something x_x"' ) and Sasara's sharp voice, but I've the feeling they sound totally different when it comes to engine noise...

Oh, I didn't mean to imply CeVIO was bad or anything, I also have different tolerances to different kinds of engine noise (if that makes sense)...
I suppose if any hardcore producers can afford more than one Vocaloid, they can get ALYS, yeah...

I was also referring to Sinsy as in the software, rather than the voice, although I could just be getting the name wrong. To my ears, they both sound like muffled humans, as opposed to UTAU which sounds rougher.

Well, VOCALOID didn't support Spanish when Bruno and Clara were made, so ALYS's goal was to make French VOCALOIDs a thing. c:

She sounds nice (though for some reason, she reminds me the FRAloids like Kriss the way she pronounces some phonems)

I saw someone on Twitter talking about it, and they said there was a good bit of engine noise.



I think noise/imperfections are to be expected though (IMO), given that it's a prototype as well as the first bank of its kind.

I think the engine noise will dissapear once they get her to CeVIO, or at least be less hearable.

Not sure. Some speculation has been UTAU but it sounds a bit more natural than your average UTAU. In their email newsletter they simply said that it was made "on a very rustic software".
