How do I put stages into mmd?

I tried putting in a file that I got off devient art but it's all pictures and my mmd won't accept it.

Are there any pmx/pmd/x files in the folder?

It depends on the file type. If they are .PMD or .PMX files, load them like you would a model. If they are .X files, load them with the accessories box at the bottom, off to the right side of the screen. =]
