(Solved) My UTAU program can´t read any Latin alphabet names

Hello there, I have been trying to make my UTAU working properly for many months, but I still keep failing. I tried a lot of things and some of them didn´t end up really good. For example registry of my Windows now looks pretty terrible .

Well, my problem is that my program can´t read anything written in Latin alphabet. I´ve set up UTAU
according to tutorial, but still I can´t solve this problem. My UTAU doesn´t like just Latin lyrics, but also Latin file names and aliases. Everything in Japanese is perfectly fine. Defoko works absolutely without problem, but any voicebank with English or Romaji file names doesn´t work. When I start up UTAU with any voicebank with Latin file names, a lot of warnings appear. When I put up some notes, it won´t make any sound. Anybody knows what to do with this? I will be glad for any useful advice :-)

Specification:
Software: UTAU ver 0.2.76 (ENG Patch)
Voicebanks: Defoko, Utarine Himawari, Teto Diphone
OS: Windows 7 Professional 64 bit Czech Locale (Using utility for automatic locale change into Japanese for UTAU)

Some screenshots:

When I chose a latin filesystem voicebank:

I would start by changing your system locale to Japanese. I know you've written you're using Japanese locale via some utility but from everything I've heard over the years, it's best to have your system locale in Japanese. It doesn't change the language of your PC and it shouldn't make any non-Japanese installed programs different.

When you try a voicebank with an English or non-Japanese name, do you get strange filenames in your file explorer?

When you write notes in UTAU, are you making sure the things you type are aliased for the voicebank you are using? If you try to use an alias that doesn't exist for a specific voicebank, it won't make any sound. A good example of this is Defoko, Teto, most big name Japanese language UTAU. Their voicebanks only have hiragana aliases, so using a non Japanese character to make them sing simply won't work.

Well I can´t change entire system locale, because in Windows 7 it is posible just in Windows 7 Ultimate. That utility is automatic command that pops up when I right click on programs icon. It works with AppLocale program in system, that can allow to emulate these locales for any program. I think that it is same as when I open AppLocale and do it manually. I already tried to change entire system, but it ended up in that registry problem I´ve been talking about. BTW that screenshot isn´t right one, these aliases are bad I know, I´ve been playing with it for long time, but it doesn´t work in default alias set too. I get strange file names just with voicebank of Teto. I am not using it, because I still don´t know how to repair them. But Himawari si Ok, files are intact and everything looks normal, expect that warnings and no sound.

Hm. That's odd. Hopefully someone around here knows what to do. I'll have to think on it for a while.

No, that's fine.

Is there a reason you're using UTAU 0.2.76 rather than UTAU 0.4.18e?
I know some users still use 0.2.76 but maybe upgrading to 0.4.18 may help, unless there is a particular reason you are using 0.2.76.

It contains also VisualBasic 6 runtime. I have really bad experiences with this program installer. Well, Basic is really old code language. Just didn´t want to install it separately and forgot to update UTAU after install.
[doublepost=1509555207][/doublepost]Are there any big differences between these versions?

Visual Basic is also used for UTAU 0.2.76 if I remember right.

There are quite a few differences, as @FiftiesYoungin said. Since 0.4.18 is a big difference from 0.2.76 in terms of version, here is a list of questionably translated changes and upgrades from all versions in between and leading up to 0.4.18.

Yeah. I wanna look at it myself, but I also want to see the oto as it appears on your PC. Can you open a few configurations for me?

Where could I get that VB?
I think actually reuploading it to share with me goes against the TOS of UTAU.

That's UTAU's setting.ini. They want to see the oto.ini (configuration file) of the voicebank in question that's not properly loading.

@partial I've loaded the voicebank they're having issues with (Utarine Himawari) and it does come with an oto - a completed one at that. Loads and plays properly on my end.

You're using a European machine, right? Did you check to see that the Decimal symbol is in fact a decimal point (or period)? I've heard that it usually just contributes to resamplers not working properly, but who knows? Could be a contributor to your oto issues as well.

did you check.png

Kind of grasping at straws here since I 1. run Windows 10 and 2. don't have access to your particular version of Windows 7. Do you plan on using Japanese banks exclusively or do you need/want other languages that rely on latin characters?

@수연 <Suyeon> Thank you for taking a look at it. I haven't had time to check this place for a few hours now. Since it's loading fine on your end, I'd assume it would also load properly on my end as well. This is strange that it doesn't load for @Tonda102, at the least, especially considering UTAU has been around since the Windows XP era and I assume it could work just fine on that as well.
