(sorry im new) openutau wont open on mac and i've tried the thingiemajig with xattr -rc /Applications/OpenUtau.app

You will need to do this first:

Click the Apple menu > System Preferences > Security & Privacy. Under the General tab, select "Anywhere" under the "Allow apps downloaded from" section.

Then, you will need to install the DMG normally. THEN you will additionally need to allow the installed app itself to run using the xattr command. :/ macs are not very nice about open source software.
