Utau and Making a voicebank

You can download OpenUtau if you prefer! It has an easier set up and doesn’t require changing your locale to Japan! If you have no interest in using your bank and you just want to make one, all you need is a recording software, mic and a reclist of your choice to start off! Once you’re finished recording, you’ll need to oto it so utau knows how to read your recorded samples ✨

Not sure if OpenUTAU works on ChromeOS, but if it does, then I second KukkiKat's reply.
While you don't need UTAU to make a voicebank, you should probably test it to make sure it works and sounds how you want it to.

Chromeos does not allow the use of openutau or og utau. It's basically just a web browser. And since you have no way to make an oto.ini to my knowledge by using just a web browser and your files, you cannot make an utau voicebank using it. You can record one and hire someone to to it for you

Thanks for your help! unfortunately, both Oremo AND Akorin both don't work on my chromebook. Luckily enough, I have another computer that already has OpenUTAU installed, which is what I mainly use to make covers and stuff. I would use that to record, but its a Mac and its plugged into a very echo-y room (I.e, it's not portable to record in my closet), so I'm getting a Windows 11 running laptop instead, but thanks though!

I ended up just getting a Dell laptop (as you can see from my previous replies), but thanks anyway! And sorry I wasn't able to respond sooner because of the whole utaforum shutdown thing

A good idea even if it did work.

I would suggest using RecStar on a mobile device and recording in a quiet environment, then transferring the wav files to your main computer. This way you can use things you already have on hand instead of needing to buy an entirely new computer.
