UTAU English VCCV 2015

For me at least, it's easiest to build these USTs from a midi, or something with only simple CV notes. To edit from a CVVC ust, I would recommend deleting all the VCs, and starting over with their placement. The VCs have had the biggest change in how they work when comparing to CVVC.
Awesome! I just recently practiced working on using MIDIs for USTing. I'm currently in the middle of making one using English CVVC and once VCCV is released I wanted to convert it. I'll be sure to keep your advice in mind. c:

Final Question (lying, have more but not asking because they'll all probably get answered once you can finally show everything)

I have a tendency to reconfigure every voicebank I use (generally only on voicebanks with mistakes- I usually don't edit quality otos or specialized), would it be considered an acceptable, or even practical to take older CVVC voicebanks and edit the configuration to be closer to that of VCCV?
I understand you wouldn't achieve the same results, but more for the sake of using older voices and keeping them alive a little longer.

I'm only asking because there are some decent, yet dated, voices and we couldn't expect everyone to jump up and update immediately!

Thanks again.

I'm only asking because there are some decent sounding voices and of course we couldn't expect everyone to jump up and update immediately (or at all)

Thanks again!

(I've always reconfigured every voice bank I've used, oops >_>;;; )
I think updating the oto to work more like the one I'm going to introduce with VCCV would help smooth out just about anything. I tested it out on Teto's English bank and I didn't really have any trouble with it, and it sounded great!

I guess it just depends on how the person who owns the bank feels about it. But I've never had a problem with people editing otos for your own use.

I'm actually excited on this reclist to come out, I declare this to be my first VCCV bank to record (well difficult bank to record) Making an english CV bank is pretty easy for me to do ( I make my own CV reclist since I know what each symbol means) I alway's loved how your reclist comes out, they always sounds more human like and majestic. I really can't wait to try out my new mic for this reclist.

Is there any specific release date for the reclist yet? I completely Understand if it'll take longer

CZ said the oto should be the part that took up the least time bc recording methods/timings are very strict, plus she'll also supply a base oto. So I think you should start preparing yourself for a flood of new banks

(I've finally got the backbone to ask this.so....)

I've been playin around with CVVC Japanese & English (Partial to help my understanding of CVVC and partial to figure out how to make a working 2-in-1 JP/ENG vb)

Anyway, I've tried puting VCs before CVs when using JP CVVC(to imitate VCV JP), and now I'm curious are you doing that too but with english, and using VCs/CCs as ending sounds(or starting sounds as in the case with -CCs)

I actually tried this the other day! (I was gonna call it E-VCV LOL) I think it's "doable", but to make it understandable, I think the consonants have to be stressed in a certain way that I couldn't pull off--that and my voice's own shakiness rendered my samples somewhat useless. If you can figure it out I would love to know how I could have done better, because I like the way VCV is recorded and would love to see fully understandable English banks recorded that way. i hope you dont mind me saying this

No date yet, but I'm trying!

Would it be a good idea if we were to convert this new phonetic system into x-sampa?
It's up to you guys. I don't recommend it. This list is based off of words, not necessarily specific sounds. Plus I'd like to get some common ground with UST making, so I'd like people to use this phonetic method... since well... it works! I guess it is a bit odd though, to make a new one when there are so many already out there.. but... well.. that's what happened! All I can say is that this one is specifically made for UTAU, and if English is your native tongue, it'll be super easy to pick up.

Yup. Pretty much. That's been the idea since... probably pretty soon after I released the first CVVC JP and English lists. Things started changing fast after those first lists.
None of VCCV is actually VCV. It's recorded as such, kind of, but none of it is VCV. I don't actually recommend using VCV with how UTAU works. Especially for English. Not just because the size of the list would be impossible, but because of how consonant velocity works.

About VCV for other languages , I agree with you, I tried vcv samples with italian and they often work really bad , cutting consonants, making everything not understandable

@PaintedCz I love the design.
*Squeals in excitement* Can't wait. Hopefully you'll be finished before I go back to school.

I'm sad to say that I will not be making my "before the first week of August" deadline, but I am happy with the progress I have made. VCCV English will be available before the end of August!! (not that you have any reason to believe me and my deadlines anymore.)
Dude, this is my first time seeing this thread, and holy shit. It sounds AMAZING. I have never before had any interest in making an English bank and now I absolutely cannot wait for this realist to be revealed so I can get started on it. The English samples you have posted sound better than any Vocaloid on the market right now by a ridiculous amount.

Thank you!! ^___^ I updated the first post so that it would have more information. Everything has been a bit scattered. Oops! I'm trying to gather it all a bit better in time for the reclist release.
