I only have Luka. When her V3 comes out(side eye to hell and back at Crypton ]:<) I'm gunna try to get it.

And I actually found her English quite easy to pick up ;; but I guess to be fair there's a post on VO that's chock full of tips for using her haha BUT before I found that post I still didn't have much difficulty learning to use Vocaloid. Her Japanese is easier to tune than her English but I recently discovered(more like remembered) a way to use the PIT parameter to tune her English well enough; whereas with her Japanese I can just use smaller notes to tune so -shrug-

I think having Iris and having worked with CV VC English in UTAU actually helped and made things a bit easier too. And the fact that Luka came with instructions...in Japanese...but in the back of the book it has like a dictionary-esque thing with some words and what phonetics are used to get her to sing them(some...are 'wrong' in that there are better phonetics to use imo but the point remains) and there's a User dictionary in-program with a list of the phonetics. So, a few pronunciation issues aside, I had no problem learning how to use her(the lyric input system has spoiled me though sob it's just so simple and you can make your own words with the user dictionary??? Jesus I wish UTAU was like that.) and I certainly have no problem using her now ouo I even used her for a school project...

Now, I know I got lucky in that my girl just so happens to be bilingual already lol But I wouldn't worry TOO much about language unless you're gunna be makin' originals(or translated covers too I 'spose) and buy a Vocaloid you really really like and are really gunna like to use. Someone whose voice you just really enjoy listening to...the more you enjoy the Vocaloid the more likely you are to take time out of your day to use them imo

I have KAITO V3 and MAYU.

Kaito has always been my favorite male Vocaloid and it took me quite a while to save up for his V3 with the money I get from my job. In the end it was worth it!

As for MAYU, I fell in love with her ever since I tried out her demo haha

    None //sobs
However, I'm planning on either getting a V2 Bank (Iroha or an Engloid) or GUMI Extend Starter pack. I'm not sure who I'd go for if I went for a V2 Engloid, I like Sonika but I dunno D:

I wouldn't recommend getting SONiKA as your first VOCALOID, since I've heard she's quite hard to use. Iroha.... not sure about her either. I've heard she's hard for beginners but once you know the program she's pretty good.

Honestly the V3 GUMI starter pack is pretty expensive, but well worth it I assume. I am planning on purchasing GUMI Native soon and I've heard that her banks are great!

Although if you want a V2, I'd honestly recommend getting Miku, since I've heard she's quite easy and nice to use.

The problem is, I'm not too much of a Miku fan, I'd rather get a Vocal that I enjoy to use, but I don't know what VOCALOIDs are easy to use. Any Ideas? :P

I have Miku (v2,v3,eng), Iroha, Sonika, Seeu and Vy1V3.

I think it's better to get a vocal you enjoy than try and get the easiest to use vocal. The first Vocaloid I got was Sonika, I really wouldn't recommend her as your first Vocaloid. Don't get me wrong she's a good Vocaloid but I don't think she's good as someone's first Vocaloid. I find Iroha,Miku,Seeu and Vy1v3 easy to use(I can't really say anything about GUMI since I've never used her). Also AHS has 14 day trials of all their vocaloids so you can test them out and see if you like them http://www.ah-soft.com/trial/menu2.html

Yep, and the demos of Yuki, Kiyo', Miki and Iroha were for a whiiile (except now with the "olol 14days trial" it went from one month to two weeks ._."'; Though I think the worst is Zunko, where it seems to last only five days...)

I had Zunko before, and the 5 day trial really annoyed me q.q even with the Tiny editor she was lovely.

My first vocaloid was Sonika, and lately I've really been liking iroha, but as said earlier they're both hard to master.

Thing is, I actually went into using sonika with experience. I've used non-legitimate versions of vocaloid before so I could learn how it works and how to use it well, then once I finally bought sonika, did a complete uninstall and removed it from my registry.

But my advice is to get the vocaloid that you will find the most useful. If you plan to do things like cover a lot of Japanese songs, then a Japanese vocaloid. If you can only write your original lyrics in Spanish, then a Spanish vocaloid.

-//Ahhh, I'm so off topic by now.

To be hones, I like Luka, Flower, and Iroha a lot lately, and I'm partial to MEIKO V3. I like V3loids that don't have starter packs q.q I also enjoy Gumi, but her Extend Starter Pack may end up being a little out of range. Do you know places for specific vocals if I were to pick them up Boxed? o3o

All are good! MEIKO V3 will come with Piapro Studio and Studio One so you won't really need the V3 editor then. Same if you wait for Luka V3. And of course Iroha will come with the V2 Editor.

If you want GUMI, you could just get an individual vocal! Her native is a great way to start with her I've heard, plus a starter pack is available!

    OK, places for specific vocals....

If you mean somewhere where you could walk into a store and buy it there, no, I don't know of a place like that (I really want one though ;A; )

What I do is I order them on Amazon.co.jp and use Tenso to forward the package to where I live! Prices are cheaper on the Japanese Amazon. For instance, on American Amazon, VY2V3 is like $150, but on Japanese Amazon, he was $90! (Still lots of money, just not quite as much!)

Hmm... I'll go have a look on amazon.co.jp then for vocaloids~ Is Piapro studio like, better or something? ono
I might go after Native, or Power because best bank imo xD

Would the IA Duo Starter Pack be worth it? £105 before shipping o3o

    I'll start with IA.

Yes, she's really worth it! I have the Duo starter and it's really worth the money.

If you're shopping on amazon Japan, then I'd go for Native since it is a bit cheaper, however power isn't THAT much more if that's the one you want.

Piapro studio isn't really better in my opinion, sorta annoying honestly, but at least you can use the voices you buy.

Well I live in America and I saw on your little info thing next to your posts that you live in England, so the shipping cost might be slightly different.

I think the shipping was somewhere around 20 USD?? Not sure :/
